I think that it's important that we have a free market here.
If freedom is the key factor, and he's free to sell his crap, we're free to comment on that, right?
His self-moderated thread doesn't allow that, as all comments that could make his product look bad are removed (it's even closed now, sales continue "in private").
This thread allows us to, and is the right action according to the forum rules. Despite some peoples impression, this thread is not to restrict freedom, it's to ensure it.

I posted on his thread asking a genuine question and then he sent me a PM accusing me of trolling.
I pointed out their mistake about Anonymous/FSociety and got deleted right away. It's their way to act with others.

I understand your point of vue, unfortunately I think as cryptocurrencies will become more and more famous in the future, there will be more and more people who will try to create and sell physical crypto, and there will always be people for buying crap...
We should continue to try calling out stuff like that.

Hahaha omg I'm glad I stumbled upon this. These are really really cheap omg. It's just a generic poker chip with a hologram sticker on it. That's literally it. Why wouldn't I just take a roll of quarters and put holograms on them with my own securely made bitcoin address? Oh my defcon... Why? Just why...

The whole point of Bitcoin is decentralisation. In other words no central authority. The fact that defcon is moderating his thread and not allowing the community to voice their options is not right. I posted on his thread asking a genuine question and then he sent me a PM accusing me of trolling.
I feel for all the coin makers who put hundreds of hours worth of work into their products only to have a cheap and poorly made item take away from what makes physical bitcoins so great.
Nobody is hating on him, we just tried to help him improve his products. However, it seems like he doesn't see it the same way and doesn't want to take our advice.
If you do see this (@defcon) I think it would be wise to allow for an open discussion about your coins...

Buyers have to be aware on what they buy, and not fall for the first offer they see, I don't see how you can stop them doing it. Anyway if an item is bad, people will be less tempted to buy it. They have to brief themselves before buying.

I don't understand what you have against DefCoin poker Bitcoin chips. The chips he sells are cheap to produce for sure, and there's not a lot of work in it I agree with you all (and that's one of the reasons I won't buy it), but it's a way for him to make some money.
People should not remain quiet when there are obvious flaws to be pointed out. As long as we have ignorant people buying crap, the market will keep suffering, and other creators will tend to spend less work to create their products. This needs to stop.

If someone wants to spew some btc in these chips it's his problem, so I won't blame Defcon for "his lack of work" or something else, but those who are buying these chips.
This thread is about both: I blame the creator(s) and buyer(s).

Isn't the left one just the standard anonymous logo, which has nothing to do with fsociety? This just proves how much *work* they have (not) put into *their* product.
Yes, I wanted to explain this error to Defcoin and friendly asked to adjust their OP to reflect that there is NOTHING related to FSociety on their coins, when...

Info: Any criticism about the chips in the original thread will get deleted.

These coins cost $5 a pop, which is roughly the mark of Satori Coins, remember those?
On top of that, a satori coin comes with 0.001BTC loaded, while Defconartist coins come empty.

I've also finished 5 more of my own coin series, dedicated to Defcoins and their work.
Here's the Lutpin Genesis Series (totally not ripped off from wheelz):

for all of those , one side is assembled with a BTCitcoin hologram & the over side with a Fsociety hologram.
Defcon claims his poker chips have a Fsociety hologram on the backside.
For educational reasons, let us take a look at those backsides.
-snip-
Next time, better ask google first, Deffy.

Here I put together  a DIY kit anyone can do.... Don't forget to get them individually numbered and call them collector items.

These chips are a highly collectible pile of junk.

These chips are indeed generic designs and can be easly ordered without hollow and with massive amounts if needed. just try google with 'poker chips custom design order'

even amazon got these designs available www.amazon.com/Bitcoin-Poker-Casino-Quality-Plastic/
Nice find over there. These chips are even more generic and horrible than I initially thought. This calls for the DOGE!

Inspired by the great DefCon(Artist) I decided to try my luck aswell and start my own series of poker chips.
Gladly, I had some old chips from when I was a kid high quality poker chips laying around at home.
So I took a free bitcoin sticker I got some time ago very complicated manufacturing process and this is the final product:

They are limited to a run of 2 (one black and one white) because I don't have any more stickers of their high quality and value.
I won't produce any more coins of this series (until I do) and there are certainly no more (sold publicly, private sales pending).
Offers can be made via PM or carrier owl.

The only reason i can think off now is if you want a single one when the price isnt far from the production costs.

in my vieuw these can't come close to the stunning coins from satoricoin.jp

This is a unmoderated thread that allows free discussion of these "poker chips". I've removed some information from the post (but it's quoted) as it would make OP too large.

DefCoin poker Bitcoin chips  !

i would like to present my new crypto chips ..

they are ABS crypto chips,  weight: 11.2  grams, and they are available in 3 differents colors:

 - 200 regular black chips

 - 200 regular blue chips

 - 200 regular orange chips

for all of those , one side is assembled with a BTCitcoin hologram & the over side with a Fsociety hologram.

other picture:

at the moment:  - 70 blacks regular chips are already sold.
                          - 30 blue regular chips are already sold.
                          - 10 orange regular chips are already sold

i have also , on the last serie ( orange chips ) planed to make a special serie , with a numbered hologram, with my avatar in place of Fsociety logo..

ie: regular chips:

https://i.imgur.com/VKLal6Ll.jpg

special numbered ones:

https://i.imgur.com/JuP5eXXl.jpg

only 20 of those specials ones will be ever made !

i think  to sell those 20 chips  only   through private offers, or through an auction ... i will have to think a bit about it..  8-)

My question: When will collectors stop buying stuff that has barely any work put into it? These are just random chips with a sticker on them.  Roll Eyes /d
