A new update to the topic regarding latest BTC-E statements - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.20619699

Basically from the latest BTC-e statement they had half of their funds seized and frozen. And to withdraw the rest of the funds people need to go by extensive KYC procedures.

So your 2X gain isn't a good deal anymore since nobody even if they KYC their info, wait like 1 year-2 year will they ever get their full amount back.

I don't think they're tokens will be worth anything. Because this BTC-e mess is much worse than what happened to Bitfinex.

BTW respected escrow SebastianJu has reviewed the steps and has expressed his interested in providing his services for this deal.

As for 31 July, the deal is still actual.

and some FUD for you:

Do not miss a chance, when everything is clear with the future of money on BTC-E, the deal will be gone!

As you say, having those codes it sounds more than odd and very hard to believe.

You do not need to believe in that because I will send money as a security measure to the escrow as well.

Afaik US government has only seized the domain/server

Just will post here an official topic by BTC-E:

For those who understand Russian:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/--2056158

For those who don't:

At the moment, part of the service facility is arrested by the FBI.
The next update will be information on what options are available to restore the service, as well as the procedure for obtaining funds, in the event that the service is not started. In the current situation, if the service is not started before the end of August, Then from September 1 we will start the process of refund.
In the next 1–2 weeks, we will evaluate and publish information about how much money fell into the hands of the FBI and what amount of funds is available for return.
For all those who buried us, I will remind you that the service has always worked on trust and we are ready to answer for it.
The funds will be returned to everyone!
Arrest of the Russian Vinnyk Alexandra:
Officially declare — Alexander was never the head or employee of our service.
Sincerely, btc-e

IMHO
it is the very same as a roll of the dice
the only issue is i see snake eyes looking straight at this!
a hard core gambler might take the risk

Yeah seems more of like a 5% or less chance of actually getting your money back now that is seized by the US government. A few hours ago they even started to transfer all the ETH hotwallet to their own.

People "might" get their money back but not anytime soon since apparently most of it belongs to MtGox
Afaik US government has only seized the domain/server, no one knows who's transferring all those eth/ltc.
i would give a pass to op's offer/bet lol, with all those funds being moved, it's highly unlikely for them to come back online(but i hope they do!).

This is what I do. I drink and I know things.
Still actual. Do not miss a chance!

Well by posting in the Gambling section you did the right thing because this really does sound like a gamble in getting anything back from BTCe.

However 2x is not worth the risk. Maybe 5-10x or so, since most likely that money is gone forever.

I agree, this is really a big gamble. The first gamble is believing op if he does have those codes. Then the second one is whether indeed BTC-E will even come back. By the looks of it these guys just turned into a scam and likely there is a bigger chances you will not get that $10,000 OP is promising. If I would take this "bet" I would just do a 1:10 kind of odds for this.

As you say, having those codes it sounds more than odd and very hard to believe.
BTC-e didn't end up scam though, in the well-known sense of the word as robbing or gone with people's money but for "laundring"/ransomware money and because Alexander Vinnik is suspicion for the MtGox case, having already a warrant about it in US.

As far as i know, that doesn't mean necessarily the closing of "his" company...Correct me though if i am wrong about it. Undecided
So maybe the odds for this..."bet", is kind different... Grin

As BTC-E has been closing down, and the owners is suspected to be connected to the big mtgox theft, I  don't see how this topic remains relevant.

Anyway , BTC-E is claiming that they are only on a maintenance mode, which is pretty hard to believe, because they say it would take them 5-10 to return to usual operations.
