I don't make bamt, but I'm curious to know why you need a 64 bit version?

I was kind of thinking the same thing. What extra benefit are you trying to get?

Here's the update with my steps and results, as per the other forum:

https://forum.litecoin.net/index.php/topic,2924.msg44380.html#msg44380

Essentially it was as easy as git cloning to a different directory, compiling with the options I wanted, and then Lantis (from litecoin forum) suggested to keep it simple by modifying the common.pl script to point to the new cgminer. I liked this method because if something went wrong, you can simply comment a line out and get back to mining.

The system is now enjoying cgminer 3.4.2 (thanks ckolivas/kano!) with slightly increased performance.

I haven't tried it yet, I will tonight when I'm adding more GPU's to the farm. I'll post my results.

I see you posed this over on the official forum for BAMT 1.1 as well. Did it work?  Just curious. I run BAMT 0.5c, but with the instructions found at https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/how-to-update-cgminer-on-bamt-05c-127622 I was able to update the regular BAMT, and just enable scrypt from there (as well as USB support for Avalons, Erupters, and BFL devices).

Forgive me if this is the wrong forum.

I use BAMT 1.1 on some rigs for scrypt mining. It has cgminer 3.1. I'd like to update it. Is it as easy as just gitcloning and compiling like normal, or are there any special tricks because it's BAMT?
