There is a new comer in the market which is really a good exchange and the name is Binance. The exchange has launched just 5 months before and it is very convenient to use. A beginner can easily open an account on it and start trading and the interface is really smooth. The site recently got so popular that many number of people started registering new account on it and it was overloaded with new registrations. Binance had to shut down new registrations for a while to upgrade and maintain their systems. The new registrations have resumed now. So create yours now.

I don't believe Binance takes USD deposits though, does it?....And I just checked and I don't think it does.

Wait a couple of months and the exchange COSS, registered in Singapore will provide trading in crypto currency with fiat money.

Why not try binance, because binance is now the number one exchange, and the exchange is trading heavily. Grin

Try Binance.  its been good so far

The OP wants an exchange where he can wire in USD. As far as I am aware, Binance is a crypto-only exchange. So it won't suit the OP's requirements. Otherwise, Binance seems to be a good exchange with  a large number of coins being listed.

Kraken has been down for 3 days now so I'd like to move to another exchange where I can wire in USD.  Any suggestions?

The issue with exchanges is that there are no guarantees while everything is so volatile.  The regulatory goalposts are constantly shifting.  Whichever exchanges that might work now may not last long before they're forced to change their terms and conditions, or even withdraw from USD altogether, so you could be looking for yet another exchange in the not too distant future.  As such, I'd just go with LocalBitcoins.com as it's harder for governments to regulate P2P.

If you check the status page, It's mentioned that they will relaunch shortly. As an alternative you have Coinbase, Gemini, Bitstamp, Bitfinex.
