Hello! I have a problem… I have been locked out of my freebitcoin account because I changed my phone and lost the Google authenticator app. I tried to do the 2FA reset, but the links I got in the reset emails didn’t work. It says “invalid value param: number”. I am pretty sure that I used my phone number as recovery number since it was also shown in the emails saying “ a 6-digits code will be sent to this number”. However I never got a text message. Would anyone help me with this issue?  Thank you ! 🙏🏼😥
For digital assets, especially crypto, which is always asked for a "key", backup data backup is very important, if it is lost, it is not withdraw. because there is no other way if you look at me. If 2fa or google auhenicator is only a security device only when logging in, the main thing is still using the privae key.

2FA should be stored carefully because if you lose it, you won’t be able to restore access later

In the case where one loses his 2fa code or device, what you do is to use the binding code used to bind your account to the 2fa application.

If the code was not saved, then you'd need to send an email to the support of the platform you have binded your 2fa to for them to unbind it. They will then unbind it for you as long as you satisfy their Conditions.

Even when I click the email all I  get is an error, I just want to reset the 2FA  Please help
You have to send a 2fa reset request manually, read some comments above to find out their contacts. If you have done it, you just need to be patient waiting for a response.

This is not the best place to ask for help resetting 2FA on freebitco.in. Better try in their thread, as far as I can see they have an official representative there, so maybe he could guide you in the next steps https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=320959.27060

Also, be careful, always check that you are really talking to someone who is a representative of this platform and do not provide sensitive information.

Make sure the platform you are following has contact email support. You can resend the email and it will generate a new code for you to use for your 2FA reset. Generally, we can remove 2FA and add it with a new device.

Make sure you do a backup next time since some services don't have the 2fa reset option. Making a backup on another phone or a flash OS should be okay if you don't have any other option. Just store them in a safe place.

I also agree that Google Authenticator is not the best app for 2FA. Their lack of backup options and inflexibility is just terrible. Have had some bad experiences with it in the past but fortunately, I managed to back up my data in time.

The only way to getting it fix is to contact support and prove ownership of your account. It would be through emails or other social media. But make sure you are talking with a real and official representative. No one else can help you on this matter. Don't be a fool if someone from the forum dm you. For the next time don't forget to maintain a hard notebook in real life. So even if you lost or change your phone you won't loss your 2FA. Reset 2 FA isn't too easy for any site. Anyone could hack your mail and would ask for a reset 2FA then. So they would be quite strict.

^ Agreed, but can understand why someone would use Google 2FA, just makes it so much easier for most apps to transfer over as extensions but definitely not for Bitcoin... if using Google 2FA, really easy to extract the keys, encrypt and restore the whole thing on new device (again I know not the most secure but just a whole lot easier for newbies to start with), so should always do that anyway.

For support you should really contact Freebitcoin directly, but I would strongly suggest that you stop using Google authenicator and switch to better open source alternatives like Aegis.
You can (and you should) easily export all your 2fa codes from Aegis to any other device as a backup, and than you can import them in case you lost your phone.
There is even some 2fa software that can work on desktop/laptop computers, and you can even use KeePass for this purpose.

When it comes to every website-related case/issue. Your first choice for getting a help will always be the website's support via email, socmed accounts, contact page, or any possible connections.
In terms of unavailability of their support or having a bad experience with their support, making a thread here or making a review any community related-forum will probably ring a bell to them which they will take a look on the case.

For the links given above, ill go to their email or TheQuin because their social media accounts are handled by PR/marketing.

Thank you for the detailed reply! I see several different people posted there… should I ask one of them for the email? I also created another account just in order to send Freebitcoin messages regarding this issue, but not sure if they will reply me… Does anyone have their technical service email that I can get in touch ? Thank you !
If you are looking for their support email you can try this [email protected]

The other posters are just forum members who are unaffiliated with freebitco.in.
The persons that you should contact are: freebitco.in PR and TheQuin, or just post a reply to that thread.

Their thread here might be the best way to contact them: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=320959.22820

If you've deposited from a wallet you can control the private keys of/sign messages on then you might want to offer one when asking them to unlock your account if possible - but this might not be necessary.

You might be able to search for emails from them also before you get in touch in case they ask for your user ID and then you'll have it to hand but that might not be as necessary (especially if you've still got access to the email). Don't post personal information publicly (or anything that could be used to identify your account) if you can help it too. Sending it to them via email if they offer you one would be fine.
