Horrible to see. Though this does seem like the status quo of rhetoric from his predecessors and senior staff the DOJ (https://techcrunch.com/2017/10/11/everyone-bored-to-death-by-dojs-latest-call-for-crypto-backdoors/)

If something like this is to happen, we're going to see the overall destruction of the tech space in the US. That's not something that we can endure as a country. The EU is going to see massive growth in regards to their tech space. This will be stopped by big tech, with tons and tons of lawsuits and lawyers if they try this.

Pretty sickening. Anyone in the security community knows if one entity has a backdoor, all entities have a backdoor.
