In my country, it is not permitted to carry out any banking transactions and is not accepted, the regulation prohibits direct transactions. although many branches of American banks are here because of this policy, they cannot.
but there are third parties who help make transactions so that we are safe and avoid these rules.

Does Simple have the same sort of policy relating to overdraft fees?

They will try to reject any overdrafts but if anything slips through there is no fee and they expect you to cover the negative balance "as quickly as possible". I like 360's policy better since they charge interest instead of some nebulous expectation. I imagine Simple would eventually kick me out if my definition of "quickly" is not the same as theirs. Still much better than $35 a pop as is typical with other banks.

I haven't had any contact with their customer service, which is the best kind of customer service Smiley. Not much else to say. It just works. Doesn't seem to support Zelle if that's important for you.

Some of the choices I've been mulling over: Citi Bank, Chase, TD Bank, Ally Bank, Capital One.

I know it's an old thread and you probably already made your choice but this might be useful to others:

In your list, Capital One 360 is the only one that has a sane overdraft policy. Before you say you'll never overdraft... that shit happens whether you want it or not, e.g. I've had Coinbase duplicate a deposit request.

I would avoid Citi and Chase like plague unless you really hate your money and need in-person branch service. Although for branch service I'd use to a local small bank/CU.

Ally is ok.

None of the above banks had any problems with me using Coinbase, except when they started declining credit card purchases sometime in 2017 or 2018 but that was too good to be true to begin with.

I have no experience with TD.

If you want no-frills online bank with zero fees, consider Simple (BBVA). I have not used them for crypto purchases though. Works fine for everything else.

I actually did go with using Capital One 360 : and I have to agree with you, they without a doubt have the BEST overdraft policy. I must say I've miscalculated things with Crypto purchases multiple times, or I've clicked deposit one too many times -- and they've saved me a couple of times from a handful of fees.

I've been looking through some of their information and it seems like they have some pretty good featurs on their: Such as 'safe to spend' which is a problem sometimes when you have things automatically set up and you just miss it.

Let me know if there's any other info you can provide on simple, such as their customer service or anything you think would help someone who's banking with them. Thanks! I appreciate the info SuchMoon, as I am looking for a new personal banking provider.

In my state (Ohio), you can use cryptocurrency to pay taxes. If a state bank were try to prevent your purchase, you could say you were planning on paying state taxes with the currency.

I highly doubt they'd be able to prevent the purchase.

Currently looking for a good bank that won't ban me for crypto purchases.

I would be choosing between anything that is feeless, and would love to see if its possible to stay with a bank that I currently use. But if that's not possible then so be it.

Some of the choices I've been mulling over: Citi Bank, Chase, TD Bank, Ally Bank, Capital One.

I'd love to hear what some people think about these bank choices, and if they're going to have an issue with crypto purchases (such as by shutting down my account)

To my knowledge, none of these banks ban your accounts if you buy and sell the crypto the right way. By the right way, I mean using coinbase and few other websites that are legally allowed in US. If you do go around and buy crypto from some websites that are not legally allowed in US, you will be banned sooner or later for sure..
