They will never stop with war i guess. Or they might stop when there will be no more oil in the earth, but then they will fight over water and other stuff, but since iraq is not really rich with water, they will move battlefield to water rich countries. If everyone was having in mind that war is thing made by politics, nobody else would be killed in war ever again.
Look at what happened in Iraq. The same ISIS goons whom the US supported in Syria, invaded Iraq where a pro-US government is in place. The Americans will never learn from their experiences in the 1979 Soviet Invasion of Afghanistan. I have also heard that many of the FSA factions have merged with the ISIL / ISIS.

They do not want to be occupied by anyone. Historically, it is unwise for any country to try to gain control of Afghanistan.
Also, there has been almost constant war in the Middle East for ~4000 years. The USA needs to leave them all alone.
