I feel like this whole talk and attack on the bitcoin mining is just some wierd conspiracy theroy, the energy consumed by the bitcoin mining is barely anything compared to some other useless things that consume more and has no value, because if you think about it the only party that is going to be affected significantly by it is china since they have most of the mining power, plus i feel like tesla is setting things up for a big move where they either create their own crypto or premote thier battery/energy production in the future.

It is interesting how right wing republicans like Warren Davidson. Right wing states like florida and texas. Trend towards being pro bitcoin and pro cryptocurrency. Texas is currently constructing new wind farms with new crypto mining operations lining up to be powered by them. Earlier this year florida announced it would recognize bitcoin as a legal currency.

Left wing nations like china, left wing states like new york and left wing democrats like Joe Biden. Trend towards the opposite. I think new york outright blocked financial institutions in the state from buying or selling tether and stablecoins. New york is known for having anti crypto regulation in place. Joe Biden announced many harsh penalties for crypto after assuming the Presidency, including capital gains hikes.

I wonder if people are interested in right vs left talking points relating to crypto. Could these observations be consistent over time.

I haven't look at this angle though, but it's possible that even in politics bitcoin has this sort of influence. But I consider China as "far left", very different from what I have seen left upbringing. Or maybe there is something in bitcoin that US left wing like Joe Biden doesn't like or even states like New York.

While obviously the right wing is in total contrast has conservative views. Anyhow this is an interesting subject to discussed, but I'm not expert about the whole political views involving crypto. Or maybe someone has already read this book, The Politics of BitcoinSoftware as Right-Wing Extremism.

I totally agree with him, but problem is that people are listening mainstream point of view that is twisted toward big tech, central banks with global agendas and often times anti-Bitcoin.
Solution is to turn of all your useless TV devices and save more energy than ever.

Everything looks better in Florida and Texas because there is obviously more freedom than in other states and not just regarding Bitcoin but they don't have any corona restrictions and mandates, people can normally go to sport and other events without face diapers.
Florida governor Ron DeSantis was very important for this but people also complained and wanted more freedom, that is showing us how politicians are nothing without the people.
More corrupt politicians are, more they dislike Bitcoin and there are more than one reason for that, but main one is they don't have control over Bitcoin.

Odd choice for an example [I do know it's already a thing, but still...] but that's one way to put it!
- Having said that, I did enjoy listening to the rest of the interview and I'm glad that people are starting to recognize the true nature of that clown [aka E**N M**K].

And it's about time that we really educate ourselves with this FUD all over crypto and mainstream media. They can twist everything, but at the end of the day, still up to us to digest what has been said. There's no better weapon against this negativity but knowledge.

The problem is that the mainstream media do what their masters tell them to do, and most of these media outlets are actually owned by only a few large global corporations that promote their agendas globally through them. If you and I know what is true, it doesn't make much sense if these media are constantly spreading lies that then become true in people's minds - because if you hear or read something a hundred times, you will hardly suspect that it is not true.

Solid facts that have been scientifically proven must therefore be presented through social networks or independent media, but also by each of us educating at least one person who will then be able to educate others. It is unfortunately a slow process, but if we remain silent it means that we agree with what appears in the media every day - an agenda that says "if you use Bitcoin, you will remain in the dark".

As far as bitcoin's energy consumption, this image says it all:

And again, it's obvious that Elon Musk has agenda behind attacking bitcoin mining. And it's about time that we really educate ourselves with this FUD all over crypto and mainstream media. I am not a fan of Changpeng Zao but his tweet makes sense. The hype from Tesla and recent FUD relates to energy consumed by Bitcoin network is non sense. Most of energy used by Bitcoin mining farms are renewable.

I don't think so, mining consumes a lot of electricity, how is that green in the most fundamental of the things in concern and also what needs to be done is for the energy source for electricity to be replaced because they are the biggest contributor to climate change and global warming, with fossil fuels gone and more renewable and innovated nuclear technology used as energy source, that's the only time we are going to get a green energy not more bitcoin mining. On a side note, this senators and lawmakers should stop accepting bribes/lobbying from this evil fossil fuel companies or any corporations for that matter, it's not on the interest of the public that they are doing this.
With regard to electricity, there are two complaints about bitcoin: high total energy consumption during mining and the use of environmentally harmful sources for mining, such as coal and oil products. These problems and the problem of energy in general in each state must be solved in a complex. Everyone needs to switch to the use of renewable energy sources and encourage the installation of solar and wind power plants by individuals and businesses. If the state does not extract coal or oil, or import them, then there will be no problem of using them for cryptocurrency mining. Miners consume the energy that is in the region. Moreover, each state will be able to generate as much energy as is necessary for consumption.
However, so far, due to the general lack of energy in the world, the problem of energy consumption for mining bitcoins exists and in this regard, Buterin has already stated that it is time for bitcoin to also switch to the POS algorithm, as ethereum does, reducing energy consumption by 99 percent.
It's not bitcoin mining that directly produces the pollution, like a household or a business, they are also a consumer, what should be blamed is the electricity companies that burns the coals and fossil fuels, no one blames the people who buy gold when there is a mercury spill in a river, it's the manufacturers that are shouldering the blame and that should be the same with bitcoin mining.

I don't understand the point on this one. How should the increase in Bitcoin mining activity cause the growth of green energy?

I think his statement is in line with some previous considerations that boil down to cryptocurrency mining and dirty energy sources in addition to the ever-current thesis that China actually controls Bitcoin. Given the attitude of the US towards China, which has been in force for several years - everything that China controls in any way is not good and threatens the US as still the world's leading power.

If the US took the lead in mining, manufacturing mining devices and strictly controlling the energy sources needed for mining - maybe Bitcoin would become more accepted and legitimate in their eyes. Of course, this is bad for decentralization, because the excessive power of any country again leads to the same problem we have now - and these stories about green energy are exaggerated anyway, because all relevant research shows that Bitcoin mining already uses much renewable energy which is measured in only 0.2% of the total annual electricity consumption in the world.

This agenda is therefore completely malicious, because if we want to change the world for the better - shouldn't we start with the things that do it the most harm - and Bitcoin is at the very bottom of that scale.

Oh a response to the tweet that Elon made a few weeks ago, this kinda makes the market grow one time or another. But the price still loses a great amount of percentage since he tweets that "energy thing about bitcoin". everyone is still simply waiting for the right timing because you never really know where the last price will be before it rises again. Anyway, tweets like this are one of the indications that they will gonna return to invest again but the at the same time, people need to be aware that they are only saying those words to push the price up to its peak again.

Green energy is right there waiting to be exploited. Whether there is Bitcoin mining or not, green energy should be the one to be widely explored and used. Industries should do the gradual shifting to green energy including Bitcoin mining.

He's probably just using Bitcoin as an example of high electricity usage that might be a reason for the US to use green energy. It's kind of a bad example IMO but since Bitcoin electricity usage is a hot topic right now because of Elon Musk, that's probably the reason.

Probably. Actually the issue about Bitcoin's high energy consumption is an old issue which was already more or less sufficiently addressed. That's the reason why a high percentage of Bitcoin mining energy is coming from renewable sources. And it is not stopping there. It is just a matter of time before Bitcoin mining energy will use green energy for more than 90% of its operation. This old issue was simply revived because of Elon's lack of information.

At least it's good to hear a congressman giving Elon Musk some pointers and then hinting about Tesla's power consumption as well and then the his manipulation of the market.

Let's see if Elon will reply, because we can clearly see what's Elon up to with his kind of rehearse arguments about bitcoin and then the obvious shilling of Doge.

The topic of bitcoin is falling into individualities and perhaps the one that has the most tendency is El-On Musk, we must not forget that every time bitcoin is mentioned and Tesla or El-On Musk is added, the big winner is El- On, nowadays it is not only necessary to say that it manipulates the market but that when this manipulation works or not, there is a commercial use, it is free advertising.

Check out who are the people who always mention the Bitcoin issue in relation to El-on Musk and green energy, there is still no true "influencer" other than El-On Musk himself.

As for that appointment, as it is the most logical sense for not only technologies like bitcoin but any other, we must reduce the consumption of traditional energy sources and place or strengthen alternative energy sources, green energies.
