Are businesses bracing for the upcoming chaos by adding "fortification"?

Maybe the incident of January 6, 2021, when the supporters of Donald Trump invaded the capitol is still fresh in the memory of most business owners. If the mob have the guts to attack an important building that some political analyst calls a "temple to democracy", then no business is safe. I am not surprised that businesses are preparing for the unknown because with Trump contesting anything can happen including violent protests, looting and a potential coup d'etat. It reminds me of how we travel to rural areas during elections because the cities are usually unsafe.
Chaos will be prevented if any candidate that losses concede defeat and congratulate the other. By this, the atmosphere and their supporters will be calm.
If Harris losses, she can concede but the same thing cannot be said of Trump. So, for there not to be chaos, Trump needs to win.

Whatever reasoning people have is fine with me.  Just vote for Trump and all will be well.  lol

I've been asking Grok today what the odds of Trump winning the Presidential election are throughout the day today.  The first time I did it Grok said Trump had a 58.5% chance of winning.  Then a while ago I asked again and Grok said Trump had a 60.3% chance of winning.  I just asked again now and Grok says that Trump has a 60% chance of winning.  I like those odds, but I'll start feeling better in a couple more hours when polls start reporting official results.
Grok was right.
Ask Grok the chances of BTC reaching $100k this month Grin

But nobody needs to worry. There isn't any widespread FBI rioting instigation like there was at the Capitol January 6.

It makes sense, doesnt it? they recall what happened in January 6th in Washington and they do not want to take any chances when people rioting in the streets.
Besides, I am pretty sure the insurance prices for businesses in big cities have gone up and those who cannot longer afford those rates see very wise to board up their windows and doors before any chaos ensues.
But I agree with you in how ironic all of this is, coming for the so-called land of democracy and land of law, in where businesses are scared of their own people breaking through windows and stealing as much as they can carry. In countries which are obvious being steered by a strong man and authoritarian leader like in China and Russia a view like this before an "election" would be a rarity...

Whoever ends up winning the election, my personal prediction is there will be some chaos in voting places, because of collective psychosis and the conspiracy theories going around. I believe there has been already someone who went to a voting place to intimidate people with a machete in Florida, and we are not even on voting day yet. At this point I would not be surprised if people showed up to voting places wielding AR-15s because Freedom and weapon rights.

I am planning to avoid much of political social media accounts and the news in election day, for the sake of my mental health and I would recommend most people to do the same think. If you are a voter, go vote and ignore news, just go to sleep and wake up next morning fresh to realize who won and do not make a big deal out of it, this is democracy and it is supposed to be the choice of the people.
You've painted the scenerios in most polling units on election day in my country, seeing thugs harassing and intimidating voters in voting centers is a normal thing. Voting card readers not working and I wouldn't be in the know if it's part of election rigging. Especially in areas where a preferred candidate is not popular, ballot box snatching is a regular occurances, that is our experiences.

But if a country like the US that is supposed to be a role model to these countries where there's allegedly no free and fair elections, then democracy is dying. I hope that you're just speculating the worst case scenerio on the US election day, and there's no pointer that crisis can actually erupt on that day in some parts of that country. I want to believe that Americans have gone beyond electoral violence, but if it happens, then it'll encourage some backward countries for their thugs to unleash violence on their own election day.

Can stock market help predict the U.S election? - CNN

An ongoing discussion in CNN.
Relating this to crypto, the investment analyst said that stocks rising the week before election shows good sign for the incoming. Could this be related to the recent rise in BTC price last week.
However the analyst believes Trump might not be the president.
The US election is highly unpredictable. Even polls are not reliable in predicting who will become the next president. I remember vividly that most polls favoured Hilary Clinton in the 2016 elections but the opposite happened. The stock market can react to any slight political or economic sentiment, that's normal.

Based on current polls the election will be a very tight one because both candidates almost have an equal probability of winning. But there is a huge gender divide with female voters favouring Harris, and male voters likely to support Trump.

Similarly, the 2020 polls all showed Trump would win but the results were completely opposite. So it can be said that opinion polls are completely unreliable, they are just tools used by the 2 parties to manipulate the crowd. Or the odds displayed on betting sites are also unreliable, everything seems to be manipulated in favor of the candidate they support.

But I think we don't need to waste any more time because the official election is just a few hours away. We will know the results as soon as the election ends and the preliminary vote count is complete.

Some people think that the market will reflect the election results but I don't think so and I think the financial markets in general will be very volatile right on election day.

Draconian policies? Are you kidding me? Maga's cult leader is literally trying to impose huge tariffs to imports. And 60% for china imports. What do you think that does to US mining when electronic equipment costs suddenly spike up 60% in US?

What will happen is that equipment will get outsourced to a more friendly country or better yet manufacturing will come back to the USA.  It's not that tariffs are good, but that having an unfair trade relationship with a military dictatorship is bad.  If China wants to uphold fair labor standards and environmental standards, we can have free trade.

Isn't that government overreach, just like Abortion bans? Republicans sure want more of that these days; More regulations against people, less regulations for corporations and corruption. That's gonna be a draconian government by definition.

Govt overreach like lockdowns, mask mandates, euthanizing a squirrel?  You leftoids give up easy layups all day long.  The problem is your thick skulls are incapable of registering that the right is slam dunking on you over and over again, Kobe Bryant's sweaty armpit right in your face, and you pretend like it didn't happen.

Are you religious? And do you have children? As far as I know, almost all religions prohibit abortion, especially Catholicism, God does not allow it because it is life after all. Most Americans are Catholic but it is strange that some people support abortion even when the fetus is in the 7th or 8th month.

I don't know the thoughts and views of those who support abortion, but as someone who has children, I completely oppose it. This is a crime that needs to be eradicated for the sake of innocent children.
Those clamouring for abortion law to be promulgated had it been their parents had aborted them for personal reasons while they were fetus I wonder from whence will they be having the life today to push for the passage of a law for abortion to be legitimise.

All godly religions frowns against abortion because whether you call it fetus or whatever anyone may choose to term it, it's a life that's breeding there. And in my opinion every fetus deserves an access into this world just as every one of us. In the first place, if they don't wanna keep a child then they should learn to play safe by using condom or applying family planning  method or something.

If I remember correctly, Trump's abortion ban only prohibits abortions when the fetus is too old. The law allows abortions if it is the result of rape or if the fetus is deformed...I think that makes perfect sense.

I agree that everyone has different views on life but I feel disgusted by pro-abortion people because it is life too.
I have children and i am not religious, because i don't fear of eternal damnation to make right choices. Or give me opinion if life-saving abortion should be legal.
But trump was proud that his supreme court nominees overturned Roe v. Wade, and there has already been casualties because of it.
This isn't about protecting life, this is about weird obsession about controlling the bodies of women.

The US manufactures its own electronic equipment. Tariffs and a reduction in regulations for little people allow companies start up and grow right in America. Don't you think that America has the technology? Overseas is just a way for big American companies to screw other nations, economically.
-cutting nonsense-
Once again, i don't have anything against tariffs as a tool for a right cause. And i think you are confusing compiling with manufacturing. Because vast majority of electronic components are from china. And while usa builds some electronics, they wouldn't be able to handle the new sudden demand. So the prices would be at least 60% higher almost immediately after the tariffs, and long after the tariffs, because while USA could increase their production of components, their work force and better safety regulations itself would affect the price.

And it would take ton of time until tech would get far enough to make cheaper components, reducing those new jobs that demand brought.

So far, Harris has remained silent when it comes to crypto but if she becomes hostile to the industry and imposes draconian policies after being elected, would you be happy?
There will definitely be a huge difference and there will be different impacts if either one is elected, don't take the election lightly or underestimate it. The upcoming election results could change and make a difference for the entire world economy, bitcoin is no exception.

What I am talking about is the crypto industry, I am not talking about issues outside of crypto.

Do you see Biden trying to impose a 30% tax on bitcoin miners in the US during his term? But fortunately that was not passed and if that is not draconian policy then what do you call it?

While it was Biden’s decision, Harris is also part of his administration and it would not be surprising if she continues to support Biden’s views and policies on crypto. That was evident throughout the campaign, when she largely ignored anything related to cryptocurrencies. Not to mention, given what the SEC has done to the crypto industry under Biden, how would you feel if the SEC continued to crack down on the crypto industry under Harris?

Talk about the worst timed raid in history… Republicans are rallying behind Peanut the Squirrel after the government raided a man’s house to kill his rescued pet squirrel (and raccoon). It is crazy how they will let murderers and rapists go free, but will murder an innocent squirrel. The department of government efficiency can’t come fast enough.

It's really divisive for Americans that one is a female candidate and the other is criminal and stubborn. I respect people's chances of winning but if you're presented with a dish you don't like, which one should you pick?
The whole world is looking at the election of one of the most powerful countries in the world and it will be sad for the whole world if the worthy ones are not elected from there.

Abortion bans are only logical. How many greater-than-Einstein intellects have been destroyed by abortion? And that doesn't even take into effect the fact that God wants more people to exist and live.

and I mean it would be better if we had a president who is pro-bitcoin than a president who is neutral or unfriendly to it. Not to mention, we also need to think about the policies that they will apply to the crypto industry in the next 4 years as they will have a significant impact on the growth of the industry.

That is what I have also been saying, it is better to have a pro-bitcoin president than to have a president who is rather unconcerned or indifferent about the Bitcoin. A pro bitcoin president would surely not make bitcoin and friendly policies no matter what. But someone who has been silent about Bitcoin could turn to make anti bitcoin politics when she becomes the president. Someone who does not like bitcoin might not go against bitcoin but they will not have the guts to defend bitcoin when the lawmakers want to go against it.

Even if the election goes against Trump, bitcoin price won't be largely affected in the present. The worst scenario would be up to - 12% price decrease. But on the long run there could be so much disadvantages of having a non pro-bitcoin as a president. Not underrating the advantages of having a bitcoin president, because in his 4 hrs of reign, bitcoin friendly policies would be made.

My MAGA grid fell 32%. Moneytalk. 26.81% now. It's correcting after sell of.

I scrape the dip on full range grid. Keep it coming.

I feel we are over flogging this election issue, as it will come and go. The bull run is happen regardless of who will win the elections, in as much as we know that Donald Trump has been on the front burner giving his positive remarks on bitcoin, I haven't seen anywhere Kamala has talked down or given any negative remarks on bitcoin. I've seen a lot of Americans rooting for various candidates of their choice, although the support for Donald Trump has been massive as I see Elon musk, one of the wealthiest man on the surface of the earth rooting for Trump, meanwhile Barack Obama the former president of America has also been on the front line massively campaigning for Kamala Harris, well as a non-american who doesn't have the power to vote, i will just have to wait and see who the majority will vote.

The bull run is bound to happen no matter who wins but do you want bitcoin to hit $250k or $150k this bull season? That's just an example, and I mean it would be better if we had a president who is pro-bitcoin than a president who is neutral or unfriendly to it. For months, there has been several US election related threads in the forum. This season's election hits the crypto communities differently as a presidential candidate has an unreserved support for crypto. This gesture in one way or the other has involved all crypto lovers in US election as many believe that the US election results could make or mare the anticipated bull run.
In 4 days time, the long awaited election will hold. Let us discuss the odds, the election process, the buzz and the results here.
