Leave no FUD unchallenged
Even if I did think UASF was a good idea, the problem is, where does the populism end?  If it's so easy to change the proof of work algorithm to screw the miners over, what other changes would eventually get forced through by the newly instated militant overlords who think consensus means you can almost completely ignore the wishes of the miners and drag them along for the ride with your supposed economic majority?  What's next on the to-do list after asicboost, I wonder?

It's amusing that some of the people who support UASF used to throw the argument at XT/Classic/BU/etc that if you don't like Bitcoin the way it is and you're going to make changes that were drastic enough that they could split the network, why not just make your own altcoin?  But I won't make that same argument, not least because UASF will probably result in an unintentional altcoin anyway, but also because a permissionless system means users have the absolute freedom to try it if they wish to.  Run whatever code you choose.

History repeats. So called users show they want do rather the miners business and fall back to pool -> centralization with all its problems giving up their user's power to the single pool operator?

WTF should be better with this than that what we have now?

Is it all about greed and power and divide and conquer?

I hope if all ranters have lost their steem and learn it leads to nothing than crap we can collude and compromise....

Ok, would you rather have miner dictatorship like Jihan? In a dictatorship, people misuse their power...like Jihan is doing. They could care less

about scaling problems, because they profit from it. I would rather hand over the "power" to the users, than having individuals like Jihan exploit

the network for higher miners fees. How do they say? ---> Power to the people.  Wink

What makes you sure same pattern will not happen after next 2-5 years after this, but with another Tycoon at some pool or hardware company been hated again from you?

I still think also your called dictatorship is part of the balanced game we all are parts of, from tiny (me) up to the actual Tycoons, you name them. Bitcoin is stronger than ever, but comunity wants  to fight for luxury sake, missing out the straight forward fixes needed and done by a single code line change. Humans can be naive, I cannot believe.

So instead of 10+ pools Bitcoin is concentraced to, their new BIP148 coin gets two pools (uasfpool and fraction hashrate from Slush), thus ensuring one of the BIP148 pool gets over 50% hashrate. I think it is really just a joke from few radicals to trick people selling their Bitcoin for BIP148 altcoin.

A coin with segwit and no covert ASICBOOST scam, so basically a better coin. Also we set a precedent for any future miners trying anything stupid.

If Bitmain didn't have that cover ASICBOOST scam the centralization wouldn't be as bad. It's too late now to save jihancoin, we must destroy to create something better. Support UASF and destroy the Bitmain demon, we have no other way out now.

Bitcoin OG

UASF - BIP148 - SegWit Deployment.

Slushpool is making a bigger impact. Their users have voted to signal UASF.

UASF pool? i checked their website to see how many miners they have, but the pool has only 1 miner at ~500gh/s at that rate, it will take months to find a block. so don't worry about it they are very small pool they can't beat the large pools at all and besides, that miner is wasting the time and effort and also electricity.

Bitcoin is only protocol. No one stops you from building bitcoin bank. Just build it. You can centralize mining to your country (but max 37% and no more like China did) so no criticism will be to your country pools.

1.  It's well known that UASF needs some miner support, otherwise it would end up being impractical.

2.  This doesn't mean that there would be "pool centralisation", because anyone could move over to another pool which allows them to mine for UASF (e.g. Slushpool).

This is a small pool.  If there were 50 pools like Kanopool, Bitcoin would not be centralised, and this is many times smaller than that to the extent that it's basically irrelevant.

No.  You can't just decide to not have any pools considering that there's only a block every ~10 minutes.  This pool is not greedy - yet.
