As I recall, there isn't any real buffering n a hub, so if all the devices attached are actually USB 2.0, then having the link to the PC be USB 3.0 doesn't help. For the duration of any transfer, it all runs at the slowest link in the chain (e.g. the device if it's USB 2.0).

The USB 3.0 is only really used because of the transfer speed, it is 1-4 GB as compared to the standard 480M from USB 2.0.
However i wouldn't recommend USB 3.0 if you plan to mine coins as there are lots of issues with miners not being compatible with the 3.0 protocol.
That is just my 2 cents.

Why do you need USB3 to PC? USB3 is backwards compatible with USB2 and will plug right into your PC. It just won't run at USB3 speed.

I can't find anything anywhere new on the internet for like less than $200. Hopefully someone here will sell you one at a decent price.

Forum user: klintay sells a 49-port and it is wonderful.  Bought one to test and now I am getting 4 more.

Any chance on one of these coming round? Even if it was just usb 3 to pc and usb 2 for the ports themselves.

Looking into a 49 port hub to use as a hub, not for mining. I have a lot of dev kits that eat up usb and was hoping there was an all in one solution with better throughput than a BE 49 port hub.

I could do a couple of hub but was just hoping for a nice solution.
