You need this- http://sourceforge.net/projects/libwdi/files/zadig/

Select your device and change the driver to WinUSB driver, only takes a minute and allows them to work flawlessly with cgminer 3.2.*

Good advice. Good luck mining. Maybe try bitminter if you can't get it situated right away.

Sometimes man, just sometimes.....
Are you using a powered hub?  If not, see about getting one.  I was using my jalapeno on a pi up until this morning.  I plugged it into my powered hub (no special drivers needed, it just uses windows drivers already installed), downloaded bfgminer, quickly set my pool settings in my shortcut, and started.  Took me all of 2 minutes.  Has been mining happily with no problems for 2 hours now.

Edit:  Just to be clear, I meant that I was mining on a Pi, but this morning I moved to a Win7 x64 system with no problems.

The problem seems to have occurred again. Any clues as to why the drivers are being a problem?

You should sell them to me. Then you won't have problems anymore  Smiley

After 3 hours of different USB ports and a dozen uninstalls/reinstalls of the FTDI drivers. I switched back in Easyminer settings to BFGMiner and NOW its working. No idea but now hashing at a combined 30Gh/s. Hopefully this doesn't happen again.

Are ฿itcoins Radioactive?
Did you tried those? http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm

Ok, forget last link... Didn't realized you already downloaded the FTDI drivers...

Did you tried version 3.2.2 of cgminer?

I've heard that you need to download special drivers for BFL ASICs to work with cgminer, but that they work out of the box with BFGMiner and BitMinter.  You might give one of those a try.

I have 4 Jalapenos that are not communicating right with my computer. Easy miner detects all 4 but gets stuck on "Starting Mining". I downloaded the FTDI drivers but when I use Easyminer it says:

cgminer errors:

Bitforce detect (1:2) failed to initialise (incorrect device?)
USB init, open device failed, err -12, you need to install a Windows USB driver for BAS device 1:1

and just keeps repeating with other numbers showing up.

I installed the FTDI drivers and they show up as "BitFORCE SHA256 SC".

Anyone have a clue?! It would be much appreciated.
