I installed it on a flash drive multi-currency wallet Jaxx and the plugin in Google Chrome and tied them together. It supports the major coins. For tokens I use MEW/. One of the most secure cold storage is the Ledger Nano S

If you want to setup a wallet for long term, and have altcoins that are not supported by ledger or trezor, buy a cheap android phone, install coinomi, move your coins to coinomi addresses, shut down your phone and keep it in a safe place.

        Hey All,
Ok hope this is in the right place. I think it's time that i setup a USB wallet & I have seen Electrum but to my understanding Electrum is only good for bitcoin and not any ALT coins.. The point as you know is to keep bitcoin & all your alt coins in the same place on a hardware wallet..
So does Electrum support alt coins - or - do i need to be searching for other software??
Thanks In Advance
Yes electrum only supports Bitcoin but there are developers that created their own version of electrum like electron cash that is for Bitcoin Cash and electrum dash for dash, I don't know how many versions are there but you can search about it. But if you are going to hold different kinds of altcoins for a long time it is better to have hardware wallets like ledger nano s or trezor but they also don't support that much altcoin so better check supported coins before purchasing one. For non hardware wallet, I'm quite comfortable of using coinomi.

Yes USB wallet help to secure your money and cryptos currencies. Trezor is hard drive wallet that securing your ether and you are the only person can access on your ether wallet using trezon. But if you are not compatible to use hard drive wallet Digital Identification Wallet (DIW) is one of the best storage and enable maximum security to your property and cryptos even your money, also it is using decentralized security and power by blockchain.

Try to visit this DIWtoken.com for must further information.

I personally use a 64Gb usb drive and install every wallet on it so I can just use them on any device.
On my main computer I'm also using Exodus, which is a desktop wallet that supports multiple altcoins as well.

A hardware wallet is probably better, but this setup works for me.

You can never go wrong with Ledger nano S or Trezor hardware wallet. Both are secure. The private keys never leave the device and you can wipe and generate new wallet multiple times. A good investment to safeguard your coins.

Electrum does not support anything apart from bitcoin.

but similar to bitcoin core, Electrum is also an open source project which people can simply fork and change it to their own specifications.
and many of the altcoin developers have already done that and have created forks of Electrum which are separate projects create by different developers. for example:
for litecoin: https://github.com/pooler/electrum-ltc
for bitcoin cash: https://github.com/fyookball/electrum
Dash: https://github.com/dashpay/electrum-dash
Verge: https://github.com/vergecurrency/electrum-xvg
and a lot more.

you can see from these links that the authors are different but they are forked from the original project which is for bitcoin and is called simply "Electrum" https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum

I ordered myself Ledger Nano S (will come only after March 20) I was told that directly on him I can not keep coins received from various bounties and ICO. But I can use it as a key to enter the MEW

Though just so you do know, coinomi isn't something which is I would like to use as you're kinda stuck on your mobile device (either on android or ios) and I think you must use android for the multi wallet.

I'd rather go with something along with Ledger (supports a good amount of altcoins, cheap price for a HW wallet) or Trezor (supports SOME altcoins, and higher price for the HW) Both of these are wonderful wallets, I'm going to be buying either one soon for my bitcoin and some alts.

I don't think electrum supports coins other than Bitcoin. Also hardware wallets comes up with their own software wallets.

Ledger wallet (hardware wallet) has support for various altcoins as far as I know.

Use coinomi if you are searching for a wallet with various altcoins support. Jaxx is also a good wallet with multi altcoins support.
