It's a shame the majority don't read, because post #3 actually answered the question asked. I don't know if I sometimes write Chinese, or am I on a list of ignored users Huh

I understand the capital gains not being populated. I am referring to the acquisition price. I wanted an automated way of showing the date of acquisition and the price received after the distribution via the Electrum wallet. Thank you.

Wait, based from this:
-snip- I receive BTC daily.
Do you have any 'Sent' transactions in the history?
Because "USD Acquisition Price" and "USD Capital Gains" wont be displayed for "received transactions".
Only for outgoing transactions since it's for the Bitcoins that you've sold.

If there are, consider enable logging and paste the log to a new issue in Electrum's Github repository (github.com/spesmilo/electrum).
Enable logging: Tools->Preferences->'General' Tab->'Write logs to file'
Logs location: Electrum(data directory)/logs

No, I haven't sent any BTC out yet. I understand now.  It won't show for daily deposits without sold BTC.  I am simply using the wallet as a depository for mining until I have a custodian in place and am not selling at this time. Thank you for your assistance.

It doesn't look like an issue with Electrum settings, it's more of a network issue to me.
Can you try to ping api.coindesk.com to check if there's a connection issue between you and coindesk?

If you're using windows, open 'command prompt' and enter this:
Code:
ping api.coindesk.com -n 10
If it returned with timeout(s), there must be something that's blocking your connection with coindesk API.

no problem with coindesk. Pinged successfully.

Mine has values using these settings. All were ticked and Source was set to CoinDesk:

Have you checked if you can browse to Coindesk.com using your browser?
It's worth the try, although I'm not sure if their API is using the same server as their webpage.

hmm, I have those settings the same and using coindesk.com but still no acquisition price. Perhaps it is another setting that is preventing the field to be populated? Thank you for your assistance.

Checking "show capital gains" and choosing a "source" should be sufficient:

If you did that, make sure that the source is not set to "CoinCap" or "CoinGecko". I've tried both and it seems like neither of them is working, they're returning "No data".

Yes, I have those set but other than the current market price the other data fields are not being populated. Thank you

I have never used this option, I must admit that I did not even know that Electrum offers such an option. Maybe someone who really uses these options will be able to explain you better, and until then look at this topic :

"Capital Gains" are only realised when you "sell" an item... at that point in time, the difference in price between what you paid for it and what you received for "selling" it is your capital gain.

I am using the Electrum 3.3.8. I receive BTC daily. The balance and totals are being calculated correctly. The fields for USD Acquisition Price and USD Capital gains fields are not populated. I have checked all the general and FIAT settings with no luck.

Under the header, "Wallet, history, summary" there is a an unrealized gains figure that is shown but other than that I cannot retrieve the USD acquisition fiat price and USD Capital unless I manually calculate it on a spreadsheet. What settings should I change to have the fields populated?  Thank you.
