In my opinion in this way you can make a small profit. Bitcoin price fell after Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Gold fork . Most probably it will happen after coming fork too. But I personally do not risk. I prefer to hold my BTCs.

Exactly, keep BTX get B2X for free, sell it for BTC

If there is proper miner consensus, there will only be one chain rather than two. Lets see what happens.

Altcoins always rise after fork, check the charts the next days of BCC and BTG...

This alt rise will be far bigger and longer lasting because it's the biggest and last fork!

I can clearly see raise in alternative coin prices after 2x. Alt coin demands are always reversed to bitcoin.  Overpriced bitcoin money goes to alternative coins. Usd isn't option for crypto investors.

How about just stay in BTC? Do you think the 2x fork will affect the price of BTC? The other forks didn't do much to the price why would this one?

This fork is different. With the bch fork bitcoin had sold off from 3000 down to 1800 before the fork. This 2x fork bitcoin is sky high and we all know why. Everybody wants the extra coin. Once 2x fork is over and no more free forked coins coming for the foreseeable future, bitcoin won't have anything to support its sky high price. The question is...will money flow in to altcoins right away or into usd?

I highly doubt that. I think you underestimate the intelligence of Bitcoin users. Everybody knows about the fork. It's already prized in. Bitcoin is way too big a market for some deluded "if I hold this, I get other stuff for free" guys to affect the market big time. Yes, Bitcoin will move before and after the fork, but much less than you expect.

People don't buy Bitcoin to get free Airdrop coins, that's ridiculous. That logic may work for some shit tier Altcoin, but not for Bitcoin.

Because this time 2X says it's the real Bitcoin. Its not like the others which just create a new currency. 2X wants to be THE BITCOIN. the conflict u can read everywhere

Well, Bitcoin Cash wanted (and still wants) to be THE BITCOIN as well. Now what?

Bitcoin will stay Bitcoin, because (at least in my subjective perception) users are not falling for 2X. I don't see many 2X advocates around, but a lot of NO2X guys.

I'm gonna hedge. Keep both for a while.

But, to answer OPs question:

Alts as a whole still look way too expensive, regardless of Bitcoins minor itchings, which I expect to be already prized in anyway. If you want out, I'd take fiat. I don't want out, though.

I think alts will drop again all the way till segwit2x and the money will flow back into the altcoins, taking us to new heights (hopefully)

Cheers

Yes I find this to be very confusing. If majority of miners (or hashpower) supports 2x, and if many major bitcoin companies do, what will actually happen after the segwit2x? Will BTC drop in value and 2x rise? If you buy alts now, what will you trade them for after? Or is it just better to hold your BTC and get some matching B2X? This was not a problem with bitcoin cash or bitcoin gold. Really confusing to think what next..

You should be investing alts alts either way right now. Most are a lot lower and are definitely going to go up. Don't miss your opportunity by debating if you should or not.
