USD is not entering the cryptocurrency market. The US Dollar is controlled by the US Government, and they are in no way shape or form entering the cryptocurrency market. Someone just made a coin called BitUSD (and they are allowed to call that coin whatever the hell they want) but it does not mean that the US government endorses that coin. In fact, it is just another shitcoin altcoin that is just going to die soon because no gives a shit about it.

the shitcoin is bitshares in that case though.
but bitusd is just a gigantic joke... as i stated above: if bitshares price moves for more than 25% bitusd is automatically liquidated to bitshares...

and 25% volatility is easy... even bitcoin has this still from time to time

I know many in bitcoin community saying that btc will overtake USD in the near future but what if USD enters cryptocurrency?

-snip-
Only fools with no knowledge of economy and politics can say that Bitcoin will overtake USD. It probably never happen, and certainly not "in the near future".
The best case scenario will be creation of new cryptocurrency directly by government supported financial institutions, digital currency totally controlled by government.
Bitcoin won't be used and either will be banned or remain insignificant minority.

I agree. This is true, people around here keep saying that the bitcoin wtake over usd soon or in the future. Don't think this will ever happen.

It doesn't even need to overtake usd.. It needs to coexist with it. It can do stuff usd can't do and that's what makes bitcoin powerful.

Maybe it needs to snoop up some marketshare from usd to gain value, but overtaking is not gonna happen soon.

Bitcoin needs the USD and vice versa. With other words there is no need to compete with each other. Both currency can coexist and complement each other.

In time we will see their pairing as a beneficial factor. I am sure of that.

imho tether usd is way better in digitalizing USD because BitUSD still carries some risk - afaik 25% price change of bitshares is enough to make bitusd worthless (which is not much considering that bitshares is worth nothing atm)

really nice and interesting,i think paypal start all of this.
In September 2014, PayPal announced it would accept Bitcoin via integration with Braintree, and the same month announced partnerships with Coinbase, BitPay and GoCoin. Via the PayPal Payment’s Hub merchants could use customizable APIs to integrate Bitcoin into their shops for digital goods. At the time, it released a video hinting at Bitcoin integration.

its nice to see this message but i think bitcoin is mostly converted to fiat money for regular life, if usd takes step and more over if everyone uses bitcoins for buying and selling products then i think we dont need to convert bitcoin to fiat money and use it.
