OP, awesome post my friend!

Although many have flocked to the BTC station for mere personal gain in fiat/access to hidden marketplaces, I think some change their attitude after a bit of research into bitcoin/status quo economics/mainstream media and recognize Bitcoin's radical subversive power. I was one of those people that started using Bitcoin simply to make anonymous transactions, then became seduced by it's incredible technological implications and began to buy up some coins for holding as I saw it's advantages. My coins are now worth 10-15 times what I paid for them, and I just paid for a 5 day Christmas hotel break for about 1.5BTC directly.  Smiley Cheesy Grin

I am also planning on giving some money to some BTC accepting charities, and introducing the payment system to a couple of pubs/cafes in my home town - even if they don't get many people other than me paying by BTC, they won't be losing any custom by offering it. Maybe in a year or 2 I could walk in, deposit a single bitcoin and pay for a £5,000 free bar for the whole pub!! I'm sure that would get some boozy peoples attention! I will start accepting/paying BTC for local goods and service too, and trying to educate everyone as much as possible.

Still, according to who I've talked to Bitcoin about, this recent bubble DOES make it harder psychologically for people to buy - The amount of times I've had to explain the "divisibilty aspect", with no major success. Most people I've talked to don't want to spend >£100 on a fraction of something, It's really hard to get this into peoples heads, especially in the UK, where it's very hard to actually buy BTC on an exchange...

Pretty much the only reason why Bitcoins are still around is because they're being used for massive drug, sex, and crime rings and trafficking. What you see on the internet is just the tip of the iceberg, all the forums are probably not even 10% of what BTC is actually used for. People WANT Bitcoins because it's anonymous and they can do whatever the hell they want with it because there's basically any business that takes Bitcoins. It's mostly on the deep-web.

Dear Bitcoin Community,

In the last few days we have seen BTC appreciate considerably, and this trend -with ups and downs- may well continue for a relatively long time. (well done everyone!)

Regardless of this trend continuing or not, many here have become, or will become, quite "wealthy".

Many here also understand the damage that older, out-of-touch generations have made to the world we live in, and I believe it is our duty, regardless of our age, means and capabilities, to repair that damage in any way we can.
(If you are too young yet to understand it, please watch some youTube documentaries, particularly those about sociology, business, marketing and finance, to see what's really happening)

We are on the cusp of huge societal changes that can go, in the short term, either way: very well, or very badly. There will be blood on the streets, a lot of change, a lot o poverty and a lot of confused and newly unemployed individuals. Many of these will never find a job again. The truth is that the money is simply running out in most Western economies, and this has huge implications for everyone and everything.

Unfortunately, most people out there are not smart enough to benefit from the transfer of wealth we are seeing through BTC. Many of them will also lose the little money they have as soon as certain financial actors get into the business of offering them BTC "investment opportunities".

From the BTC Ivory tower...from BTC tropical islands...we can watch the world burn, or use this money to rebuild it and make it better.

Today, I would like to invite all those becoming "millionaires" through Bitcoin -or at least those having much more than they need to live comfortably- to not forget to make the world a better place by actively and urgently investing that money in wise, eco-friendly, socially-positive ways.

The way in which you do it, is up to you, but after the shock, and the partying ends, I hope you'll put those BTCs -or converted dollars- to work for good.

Let's not make the greedy mistakes of those who came before us and left things to us in the state they are in today.

With BTC we have an opportunity to really change the world for the better. There is a lot of work to do. Institutions must change, we must rebuild the whole western capitalist system from the ground up. A lot of those who "don't get it", or are too corrupt to "get it", must be taken out of positions of power.

There are also immediate threats on the horizon, in the BTC field itself. Soon, as bigger investors come into BTC, a lot of the old, corrupt "leaders" and other treacherous individuals will become even wealthier by investing personally and anonymously, and make no mistake...they'll put their money to work in the old ways of brutal capitalism so things can continue being as they are, or get worse for everyone but them. After all, it is the only way they know. It is their model of the world. They can't be helped. They won't change.

If BTC holders just care about getting rich and partying, these individuals will be able to perpetuate our current systems for a lot longer.

BTC is a huge opportunity to change the world for good. Don't miss it. Be part of it in your own way. Kill bad money with good money. Take action, and don't forget this post. Even when no one is watching, your conscience is.

If you are smart enough to have seen the Bitcoin opportunity and courageous enough to invest in it, you're exactly the kind of person that is needed to "change the world". If you are reading these lines, you are ahead of your time. You are that person already. It is not "tomorrow" or "when I get around to it" No. As soon as you have found ways to secure your gains, concentrate your efforts on making the change happen.

Notice that I am not asking you to join any movement, support any project, or give your BTC or dollars to any particular cause. Regardless of your race, country, political inclination or religion. Regardless of your being today in this or that side of "the law" (e.g.Cryptolockers, Silk Roaders, you can also help) my invitation still applies to you.

Whatever you do, I can assure you that when you die, it will feel much better to tell your grandchildren that you "were an active, important part of the big revolution" rather than "I got very rich, yeah...".

Make this change happen in your own way, but make it happen. Take responsibility. Money is not everything. You have made the money, great, one less worry. Now put your powerful mind to work on helping others. Go out there and change the world now!
