I wonder if there will be geolocation restrictions? Like, suppose I'm in India accessing your app for my family in Nigeria, will the app offers me vouchers of Indian merchants or will it offers worldwide merchants?

No such restrictions. You can purchase any vouchers for any country while sitting in any part of the world. The only condition is that you need to have our application and a working internet connection. You can also think of it as an interface to directly buy real life goods and services using crypto.

I would love for you to give the application a try and give a detailed review for the community at Bitcointalk. Feel free to connect via DM if you need a referral code for the promotional offer.

Wait... What?

There are many types of merchants that provide grocery services. I am not so sure about Nigeria (the pictures shared show the portfolio for Nigeria only), but for India we have Big Bazaar, Bigbasket, Spencers etc which are some of the biggest retail chains providing everything from grocery to other household things. Similarly, we have retail giants like Walmart, Target and others coming up on the app very soon. I am sure other countries would be having the grocery services as well but I am not so aware of the companies that operate in this segment and would be difficult for me to give a country wise analysis.

With no intention to discourage anyone from looking into your project, can you tell me more about these 2000+ merchants and 30 countries?

We encourage all sorts of questions related to the project as long as the criticism and appreciation leads us to better our services. We have signed partnerships with multiple channels which will boost our merchants numbers to 2000+ spread across close to 30 countries. If you go through the ANN thread, you can see the updates and get a closer understanding of the partnerships that have been signed. We have NDA's in place and hence cannot divulge more information at this point of time but rest assured the partnerships have been signed and the API's are being integrated.

Wish I could give you a detailed breakdown of 2000+ but I am restrained by NDAs at this point of time. But rest assured we will have these numbers once the signed partnerships are integrated fully.

Also, if you have any suggestions/business partnerships that can better our product offering, feel free to drop in a DM and we can get on Telegram to have a discussion.

I'm sorry for the delay in reply, I am not aware of your thread being updated with your answer.

I noticed that there were no option for grocery or other form of daily needs of meal, am I right? This would be an issue, don't you think so?

Ok, how low are these minimal? Do you have a number to be exact? Or the percentage?

Further, as you've state yourself, most of the sent remittance will be used for monthly bills, how will this be effective? I don't see how electric company will accept Amazon Gift Card? Or Starbucks.

The fee for using the platform is 0. You would only have to pay a fee if you use Credit cards to purchase our RMT tokens in app (which is charged by Credit card company). If you pre-load RMT in app by purchasing it at an exchange, the fee would be 0.

We just don't provide Gift cards but also Utility providers, airtimes, insurance providers, school fees, toll, bills and many more. If you check out the Nigeria portfolio in our application, you would get a great idea of how wide ranging our portfolio is.

Have a look at the Nigeria offering in our application:

We are taking massive strides in adding merchants across the globe as we speak. In a month or two, we would be having close to 2000 merchants catering to around 30+ countries with more partnerships lined up. We have taken a conscious decisions to first add merchants followed by other services as well.

I don't think I quite get it, your aim is for working immigrants to be able to send their salaries to their family back home? Why do they have to use your facility, then?
Traditional Money Remittance service providers (Moneygram, Western Union etc) take huge commissions and a lot of time for the money to finally appear in the recipients account. We have created an ecosystem where the sender can directly money in the form of Gift Cards to their loved ones back home. Since, most of the money being remitted is for daily consumption usage (Utility bills, food, education etc), we think that their is a huge market where people would like to control on how money spent is being utilized by the end receiver. The fees on the platform are minimal and it takes not more than 5 seconds for the recipient to get the vouchers.

I like them. They are already running business traditionally and now moving everything on blockchain. Tried app already looks good, but they have to start with marketing otherwise adoption will suffer.

Weekly Update (29th March, 2019)

NEW MERCHANTS/MARKETS
UK merchants are now live!
Other markets will follow shortly. We’ve worked with our Turkish partner integrating the API and testing commences early next week, once the testing goes smoothly, the Turkish merchants go live. Development continues with our partner for the global merchant offering, adding at least 868 new merchants to the SureRemit platform. As we’re already working through one of their API’s, integration should be straight forward. We’ll update on the progress.

TECH
SureRemit App updates
It was quite the challenge, but all the dev work for the SureRemit App update is complete, integration new payment gateway & UI creation, top notch security protocols, these crucial fundamentals are now in place. We’re doing some final testing and the results are positive so far, we expect to push the update latest coming Monday.

From the Team
Q1 is almost over and what a quarter it was! Excellent progress, some delays and everything in between. Merchant expansion activities exploded, we’ve signed with many new partners, adding approx. 1500 new merchants globally. Our partnership with Streetlib is a great step forward and of course the solid Busha progress. Some of our roadmap targets are not fully finalized, others were pulled forward, all in all we’re pleased with the progress and how the pieces of the puzzle are falling into place. We’re looking forward to Q2!
‘Laolu Samuel-Biyi’

Deploy live integration with Partner Exchange Busha
Busha is now live, up and running. They made excellent progress and faced challenges, they persevered and solved all. Busha development was/is crucial to integrate our systems with theirs, developments on both sides caused some delays. Delays are unpleasant and unfortunate, but are also unavoidable if you want to reach excellence. Both our tech teams will have more time available now to continue the work on SureRemit backend integration.

Exchange Listing 2
In the past weekly updates we have expressed our views on Exchange listing procedures and requirements. We have applied for a listing at a top 5 Exchange and we’re looking forward working together if an agreement is reached. Additionally, we are in the final stage of listing with a new European exchange offering excellent fiat pairing and they also meet the current/upcoming compliance requirements. The exchange will launch end of April and expects to be Stellar ready in May.

RMT-Fiat pairing on Nigerian Exchange Busha
The pairing RMT/NGN is available on Busha.

RMT in-app purchase with other crypto
We’ll work with Busha to make this available in the SureRemit app, implementation should not take too long as the needed Busha development is now in place.

Merchandise store
We’ve put the merchandise store temporarily on hold as our energy and focus is needed on business development. The store will become available in approx. 2 months.
