You can probably find an old Boxster for under 10k, VW makes them so lots of non-critical shit breaks and falls off but they're still really awesome.
I'd drive a Carerra GT every day if I had one! Boy that would piss a lot of people off. But I don't get angry when I see somebody driving a cool car, even the janitor. So really "they" can fuck off!

Yes the Boxter is an even better idea. But the 911 has some space in the back you can use, and the Boxter doesn't, but the 911 is a lot more expensive and a lot more difficult to run. I like the Boxter idea, that way with the 40000 dollars you can have a Boxter to drive around and buy another car to do all the other things, like taking your kids to school

A good daily driving vehicle should probably be reliable, efficient, comfortable, capable of dealing with inclement weather, and inexpensive and easy to fix when something does need repaired.
I don't have a lot of experience with 911s but I would imagine there are a TON of better options out there, especially for 40k.
Then again, it all depends on your budget. If I could afford it, I would daily drive a Boeing AH-64.

No the engine is weighing down the RWD rear wheels, so you get plenty of traction on ice/snow with the right tires. Also, the 911 has long been considered a "daily driver" sports car.
