I also have a bug to report.
Looking at the user posts, the list of posts appears for a sub-second flash and then disappears.

It is impossible to see the post history.
The same thing happens for thread history.

ok understand, this is css issue
this flash because css is applied after all dom are loaded

so i need to add a "rule" for skip css in this page

I never had THIS problem.
Once I was able to activate the extension (it did take a long, as I wrote on the thread), everything worked smoothly.
Hey babe, are you working to implement some new features on the meriting windows?

Good I try to help, but need to understand  Wink

scroll down, appear orange button for REPLY

you need to update version, your version seems old
in new one the design is more compact and i "remove" info about poster, you can open it with a orange button with arrow
check your version and update it and tell me

Btw Isn't version 1.3 the latest one?
I took the userscript from your Github and it said it was 1.3.
I have no idea what went wrong! Lemme check again! Tongue

I am not using any other extensions. All are disabled.

the last part of code is mine, orange button and other best stuff
i start from this plugin but isnt good... just starting point
u can check and do a diff of css and understand the new part Smiley
all is on github and you can use online diff checker (best tool for me)

Just installed it, looks refined clean! But still I'm used to the old plugin! Is it possible to make the font size larger like the old one? The current one still looks tiny in my eyes. I understand, by increasing the font size I'll have to scroll more but I'm fine by that! (personal opinion). Btw, where is the orange button you said earlier? I can't find it!

For better understanding,  Smiley

tired of seeing an unreadable and unusable forum on the mobile side (because it was not designed for mobile versions) I decided to make a userscript starting from the css of a plugin already present in the forum (updated 6 years ago)
....[snip]....

By already available plugin, did you meant  "Bitcointalk Mobile Friendly App for Android by fahbil (discontinued)?". I have been using this one for many months and so far it satisfied all my needs. The only bug it had was with the PM, some PM would show, some wouldn't!

So, my question is, what is the difference between that one and yours? I mean, what changes did you make? Just curious

I don't have any problem with default version on mobiles, nonetheless I gave this a try, and this makes site look cluttered, worse than original, so no I don't like this.

you did well to tell me, you can give me more feedback
what you don't like, I can try to fix it and everyone can gain from your feedback
thank you in advance on behalf of the whole community if you want to give us feedback

It is very important to give feedback because in this way I can understand and fix

It is a little bit cluttered indeed.
Something I am not really accustomed to is identifying the author of the post at first glance: maybe there is too much information between the poster's name and the actual content.
You could try simplifying it a bit by playing with text size so that less relevant information, such as the number of posts or activities, is in smaller text.

One of the biggest issues for people who are using bitcointalk forum with mobile devices is when they have to make multiple quotes and reply to several members.
I don't know if this can be fixed with your usescript but I am sure it would be helpful if they could select, copy & paste text easier.
You should also add this userscript to greasyfork.org website.

ok so an easy system for editing and quoting
It seems right to me
it makes sense
I can work with it but this has to go beyond css, I can't do it just css (too complex) I'll have to put a little bit of javascript
then you can always see the code online and even when you insert it so you can rest assured

Thank you, Babo.
I am a happy user of your extension.
I have already forgotten which version I am using.
I suggest you add a note in the OP with the new release and a changelog (or a summary of it) so that it's easy to check what we are missing if we don't use the last release!

Most of the time I used to visit forum via Pc But sometimes I visit the forum on my mobile and that's why I got interested in this topic of yours and I added your script inside Tampermonkey which was already installed on my mobile but I don't know what is the reason cause I didn't see any change in the interface of my mobile. Is there anything wrong with my settings?
Or is it cause because I have also used some of scripts via Tryninja?  Huh

Upon visiting your survey/question on altt forum, i visited latest smf forum to check if they have mobile friendly pages and they did. Although they hide some info like number of replies/views, topic icon on topic lists page and users info on thread page when using mobile browsers but the experience and looks are great.
Maybe you can do make it as reference for future updates if you can consider them.

It's good that someone else is also worried about the responsiveness of Bitcointalk and I appreciate your effort. Two years ago I built Bitcointalk's UI from scratch by using Flexbox and CSS Grid and managed to create a responsive look of current Bitcointalk (used CSS grid instead of image background, that Bitcointalk uses now and is very outdated practice) Check it for fun if you wish

Navigation bar needs to be fixed. It's not necessary to be every text on one line, two line is okay too.
Isn't it better to make navigation bar like on this image?

I have to say that it's really helpful, especially for me as I use it a lot on mobile. To use it, do I just need to install the addon on the mobile browser?

yes
install greasemonkey if you use firefox
install tampermonkey if you use chrome

just create new userscript and paste the code of script.js

when i have some time i create a step by step howto for luser and everyone can have a better mobile experience
Sorry but I am a bit confused 😕 here, i access the forum 99 percent of the time from a mobile device, and like you already said, the forum was not designed for mobile phones, so this makes letters and words appear so tiny that most of the time, it hurts the eyes, I can't do anything (read or type) without first zooming out.

And coming across this thread today, I am very interested in running this script on my mobile device to give me a mobile version of this forum, but unfortunately, I am finding the process very difficult, chrome mobile does not support add-on/extension, so I am really confused as to how to go about downloading tampermonkey extension and getting it to open on mobile Chrome.

Maybe a bit of explanation on how to go about this will be of great help to me, thanks very much and looking forward to a reply.

you have android? -> install firefox -> install grease monkey
you have iphone? -> install userscripts

check first post of thread because i update it with new instrunctions for the iphone owner

so fillippone is a first tester of this Smiley and you can use his experience

I have two suggestions:

1. I didn’t get the screen resolution edit. Should I edit the code based on my screen resolution? You cannot really do this automatically, babo?
2. You should implement something similar to the merit UI merit extension by @ABCbits. I tried to add this in superscript as well, but once again, the code is not recognised, even if the format is text.

Eureka!

Wonderful theme Babo!

Okay, I had some problems, but those were due to some strange formatting on the Mac/iPhone.
I installed Userscript on the iPhone.
I saved the script in TextEdit.
I saved it in the cloud to smuggle into my iPhone.
I moved to the final directory and renamed it.
While saving the original file, it was saved in a strange RTF text, and simply renaming the file as .js wasn't enough.
I had to "save as text" before finally saving it in TextEdit on the Mac.

- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kB9xE7jxwPA

see if you can solve fillippone otherwise I'll find an alternative way to do the test, I could install xcode and an iPhone emulator to do the test
but let's see if you can solve it with videos

I had already tried that, but apparently, Greasemonkey does not support Firefox mobile.
Oh I see the problem now  Tongue
Have you tried if any alternatives for Greasemonkey is working?
Violentmonkey is open source option that works on Chrome, Brave and similar browsers, but I don't own iPhone so I can't test this myself.

I really hope it helps more, as needs arise i have no problems fixing the script since i also use it during breaks
It's very likely that i won't write anything, that's for sure, but i could start if i wanted

Wish there was something more like what we got for mobile apps nowadays. Not sure if the script can be installed on my iOS (think I tried installing scripts the last time and couldn't make them work).

since it's just css, you just need to find a way to inject the css that is inside the script

It's not that hard, just install Firefox browser app on your iPhone and use it only for bitcointalk:

I had already tried that, but apparently, Greasemonkey does not support Firefox mobile.

So I am stuck at the moment
I tried Safari, Chrome and Firefox without any success.

Good work with this script, but now you should be ready to accept requests for changes and improvements from users.
I noticed some members are complaining about accidently clicking Ignore button, so if this is possible maybe you can move it do different location or hide it optionally.

Anyway, I still can’t get it to work from my iPhone.

Fine by Time
As an avid user of the forum on my mobile device, I was really looking forward to finding a solution to improve my toilet forum experience.
Anyway, I still can’t get it to work from my iPhone.
Has anyone succeeded?

The default browser for an iPhone is Safari i guess so. Perhaps each browser permits a specific extension that is allowed to operate on them.

In the meantime, you can try downloading the tampermoney app and not used the extension. The app cold work better on your iphone. Oouch just checked no app on apple store  Sad

Code:
install greasemonkey if you use firefox
install tampermonkey if you use chrome

just create new userscript and paste the code of script.js

If greasemonkey works on Firefox and tampermonkey works on chrome.

What works on Safari, Tor and other browsers.

There are people who use a specific browser to access the forum and these tools may not work properly in their individual browser.

Maybe you can suggest what tool can possibly work better in these browsers. Or, if these extensions you mentioned can perform in other browsers then please state so. Just for other members who don't want to change their browser used to access the forum because of specific security reasons.

Firefox is okay since you can install extensions on mobile browser but its not available on chrome. Although there are browsers that have this feature like kiwi, opera and etc. And there's no chromium based mobile browser that has extension yet, Edge is limited and still beta.
