IIRC, the feature should be disabled since 2013 after a hack.

If you have an avatar already, you could ask theymos nicely to remove it for you when he is free.
I don't think theymos will help you add an avatar though, because if he do it for you, everybody will ask for it and it will be a mess.

You can't. The avatar feature has been disabled since last year.
Those who don't have an avatar can't add one, and those who have an avatar can't remove or change it (though theymos can do it for you).

No I dont escrow anymore.

Its currently disabled, noone can change /set an avatar. Those who have one, just allready had one, when the feature was turned off.
