Had the wrong paraphrase. Found the right pass phrase and transferred my BTC.

Thanks for everyone's help!

Anyway to transfer the BTC without the password for my original wallet?
No. You either need the wallet file+password... or you need to restore the wallet from the seed and create a new password. There is no other way to do it.

Check your restored wallet and see if it is generating the same addresses as the original wallet... if not, then the seed you have is not the seed for the wallet with your BTC in it.

Your other option would be to attempt to "bruteforce" the Electrum password using tools like "btcrecover" (https://github.com/gurnec/btcrecover)

2.9.3 kept crashing, but 2.9.2 works. It loaded up with the correct balance, and is connected to the servers, but I forgot the wallet password I set up 4 years ago - so I can't transfer the BTC.

I tried to restore the wallet with the 12 word phrase on a different computer, but that wallet showed a 0 balance.

try the latest 2.x.x version it should work. it was 2.9.3 https://download.electrum.org/2.9.3/

and yes your 12 word seed should work in the new versions, they are backward compatible and will even change your wallet file if you upgrade the currently installed version to the new version instead of restoring from seed.

I'll try this. Thanks!

I connected to a more recent server (e1.verge-electrum.com), and now see a "pruned transaction outputs" error, and balance of 0.
and recover the BTC that way?
Are you trying to access BTC or Verge (XVG)? Huh

If it IS BTC... then you've connected to an altcoin server... and this is why it is all messed up... connect to a BTC Electrum server and all your issues will go away Tongue

Yes, trying to access BTC. Is there a list somewhere of current BTC eectrum
Servers?

It's on an older Mac that can't run the current version of Electrum. Can I just restore the wallet on a different computer using the 12 word phrase - and recover the BTC that way?

I think the right solution is update the actually version of electrum, this is not a server (node) issues.

Have an older wallet on the Mac version (1.8 ) of electrum. I connected to a more recent server (e1.verge-electrum.com), and now see a "pruned transaction outputs" error, and balance of 0.

Is there a different server I should connect to get my balance? Or do I need to restore my wallet using a newer version of Electrum?

Thanks in advance!
