AFAIK,new members on purse.io can only purchase physical gift cards on Amazon in exchange for BTC.
You will have to get thru several trades,in order to increase your account rank and unlock purchases of physical goods from Amazon.I'm not sure if this is currently the case with purse.io.

I think you misremember it, the guide for new user mention different thing[1]. The page about level and limit[2-3] doesn't mention limit what kind of goods you could buy[2-3].

I have the feeling that websites like Purse and Paxful are mostly used by gift card scammers(people, who steal gift cards and redeem them for BTC).

At least purse act as escrow, so it's less risky than other platform where you simply buy the gift card.

I was playing around with purse.io 2 years ago,but I decided to stop using this website, since I don't find any benefit from using it.
Purse.io is more or less dead, since most of the traders moved to alternatives like Paxful.

I don't think that people are using Purse.io as much as they used to, so you might find a hard time finding someone to fulfill your order.

Especially after the news purse.io was going to be closed[1] which makes people move to different platform. Although they cancel it few months after initial announcement[2].

I would suggest not trying to find a way to purchase from amazon using your bitcoin directly.
But rather you look into getting and using gift cards on their site instead.
Doing it this way you actually save when you do trade your cryptocurrency for these gift cards.
Sometimes up to 20-25%.
There are many sites which do this service when you do pay via a vast number of different cryptos.
The benefit to use purse.io is that you can get a discount. I bought everything with 20-30%. Now show me a single place where I can buy a gift card with a 20-25% discount, as you say, without considering marketplaces in which you can get a stolen voucher, or bought with a stolen card, etc.

Even worse, the gift card might have invalid code or already redeemed. But even the gift card works, it's likely amazon will detect it's stolen and invalidate your transaction/balance or even suspend your account.

I want to confirm this using the help of members on here, is it true that I can purchase stuff on the Amazon website using BTC through pulse.io? Have anyone tried this before? Did it work?

I used it before and several times and yes it's "true". Just understand how the system works. Someone purchases the item on your behalf using his account and the coins go to him once you confirm to receive the item. I don't use it anymore since Roger Ver is behind and they removed the amazon France too.

I would suggest not trying to find a way to purchase from amazon using your bitcoin directly.

In addition to the suggestion given by hugeblack, if it's the discounts that you're after, there is also Paxful. Just make sure to trade with reputable members.

The correct link is purse.io not pulse.io, the answer to your question is yes if purse.io is what you meant to write, the last time I tried using this service to make a payment I got confused because of the service rules, you can try at first by buying 4$ worth of item just to make sure this service works.

I think you mean Purse.io right? if that correct then you can give them a try.
The only downside is the returns process, which can be complicated if the recipient does not mark the item as a gift as it can be returned easily.
Otherwise you can search online or ask questions here ---> https://www.reddit.com/r/PurseIO/

If you maen another site, it is better to avoid and buy gift cards from bitrefill
