Thanks all. I have the EPS running on My Node (product name, separate device). It's been working fine for months up until yesterday, then Sparrow gave me the message "socks: host unreachable. check if the proxy server is running." Sparrow is running on my PC. I'll contact My Node.

Update: I just ran the onion address, and it's back up and running. It must have been a problem with the node software.
Glad to know it is running correctly now. If My Node ever gets in touch with you with the reason that you were experiencing that issue please let us know. It may help someone in the future.

I have been using the .onion address for my Electrum server for a while now. This afternoon it stopped connecting, giving me the message "socks: host unreachable. check if the proxy server is running."
Is Sparrow running on a separate machine?
If so, there's nothing to configure there but to set your EPS's correct .onion address and port since it'll automatically start its own integrated Tor client when connecting to your server.
In that case, if it's set correctly, look for Tor issues in your machine where EPS is installed.

What's your set up? Bitcoin Core, EPS, and Sparrow all on the same device? And it is Sparrow giving you the error when trying to connect to your EPS?

Is your Tor proxy running? Any errors?
To add to this list of questions: If you're running Windows, have you tried the old trick of rebooting your PC? If not, have you recently updated your TOR browser?

Is your Tor proxy running? Any errors?

You could also bypass EPS entirely and just connect Sparrow directly to Core if you wanted.

Any idea as to why the .onion address no longer works?
that maybe relay change automatically and circumvent censorship

I used the 192.168.0.16 address no problem.

Any idea as to why the .onion address no longer works?
