It's sad to see how people's freedom is heavily being limited due this KYC/AML bs, but it was to be expected unfortunately. People aren't allowed to enjoy too much financial freedom.
You are right, as regulation continues it do feels like we are gradually being tied up on our own necks just like on traditional government laws that citizens are obliged to follow. Sooner or later these KYC will really
be strictly imposed not only to these services but on most exchangers for sure- somehow already a requirement when you do plan to build one.

I got your point above and maybe i just was lucky not to experience problem when i made such transaction.

I know changelly do have issues but i risk out into this alternative and still works a charm.

I wouldn't necessarily say they are scammers or something, but they do selectively (based on the price fluctuations of the coin you are looking to exchange) halt orders after they have been accepted. They will only let the trade happen when the price doesn't significantly drop in value. If it does, they will wait a while for the price to recover (which is why a lot people complain about why it takes so long for the trade to happen), if it doesn't they'll send your initial funds back, eventually.

The only ever time I used Changelly was to have fork coins converted to Bitcoin, and what I described above happened to me as well.

If you are using a wallet that integrates with Shapeshift, you will need to authenticate once through the wallet to enjoy the benefits of your membership and to then use the http://shapeshift.io service,” explained the company.

Really a sad news and i was thinking to use up those wallets integrated with Shapeshift to make such conversion and i read this one.It seems we wont really have any choice but to look for another alternative.

I've been a user of Shapeshift ever since and i completely wipe it out on my options yesterday when i plan to make conversions which they do already ask sign-up and asking verification. Reading above, for now it might be still available but sooner or later we would really expect on what would happen next.

Sad news: in the future (when KYC becomes mandatory for every transaction), you will have to authenticate yourself with your Shapeshift membership account to use it (even with third party wallets such as Coinomi and Exodus).

I have initiated a LTC > BTC conversion through Coinomi yesterday, and it went through without any problems. It indeed seems that when it's done through a service's API the users don't have anything to worry about.

That being said, this is the situation right now. It may very well be that if Shapeshift ends up getting problems due to this workaround, they might end up limiting even this form of use where Coinomi would be forced to ask for information.

Just think about it, Coinomi doesn't ask for details at all, so there is a high probability that it will become one of the main hotspots in the coming months when it comes to "anonymous" crypto conversions.

I have visited their site and apparently, they are now asking people to make an account there. There are some benefits but I the way I see it is that they want to enforce KYC.

Just want to know, currently, it seems like the only option to use them without making an account right now is by using wallets that uses their API (Exodus, Coinomi etc.). Anyone who used these services before could confirm that they haven't been asked for KYC at any time?
