there is a MASSIVE daily usage if someone can formulate the perfect peg;

electronic $, cny, euro, gold, silver ... that can be moved a 1000x cheaper than traditional system ... possibly bigger than BTC in terms of actual usage in daily life.

coino (nxt) + nubits (peer) have failed.
there are still 2 serious contenders left on the field, and if plenty of recent 2.0 ready to take to the field also.

critical issue is the "upside" ... an honest peg system ... likely would be able to provide roi @ standard bank rates ... which is not appetizing to the general crypto investor  Undecided

BitcoinNational,

Please take a look carefully at this

Agreed there is a serious use case here.  What do you define as the perfect peg and what do you feel is wrong with the BitShares pegging system?  No need to get into algorithm talk, just curious what you think about pegging systems.

TALK is shitcoin but it has been around for 2 years, meant to be tipping coin for bitcointalk.org

i not going to 'support' whatever BTS calls their pegs, but Daniel Larimer did say 'told you so' and did so in a detailed explanation, so that does lend some credence to the pegs he developed.

personally I support coins like Peer or Uno as pegs ... they are not fixed but have consistent $-values ... and stand to gain (since not fixed).

It's not about "supporting" a certain blockchain, more about finding daily usage within this landscape.  IE with BRIEXIT and all the things going on in the EU, investing a little into precious metals is not a bad idea.  Why not use the crypto route and buy a little bitGOLD and bitSILVER?  Especially if one already holds crypto, it makes it very easy to do compared with traditional investment warehouses.

You also have a point that were basically trading penny stocks with the different blockchains and there SHOULD be much higher upsides compared to traditional investments.

No idea what TALK is?

I would hope the people who appreciated and used the NuBits peg can now take a look at Bitshares as they need some liquidity.  Would be nice to move into BitGOLD or BitSilver at this point in time.

Some articles about it on steem.

Don't rule out all pegged assets such as provided on the BitShares block chain.  As mentioned lack of liquidity can be frustrating however should get better with time.  For example last night with the BRIEXIT, people were trying to buy BitGOLD and BitSILVER as these naturally should appreciate vs fiat.

the answers you seek can but turned up at discuss.nubits.com

as for pegging, bitshares' pegging still works fine. it's just lacking in liquidity.
