Meta is another hype just like there has been hypes on defi and NFT and before that was the ICO and it's secondaries.

I cannot predict how long the hype will go on but depending on the fact that many tech companies are using names like Meta, I suspect this one to go about longer.

So if you can get into the hype early you can sell early whennthe hype is around it's maximum and get a good profit. But there is a risk associated with this too, the chance that you miss the top or end up holding something that is useless.

Whether web3.0 becomes big, end of the day it is not a magic bullet to existing problems.

That's unfortunately true, but I rather say it partly. I think sometimes the hype that happening within this space is rather an exaggerated use of marketing buzzwords like Defi, NFT, and the metaverse. And the majority of shitcoiner are pumped up to make another shitcoin using that kind of word, that really make the truest technological innovation sometimes miss the meaning. I believe that there is some gap between explaining a technical term of the newest innovation, so with that, exaggerated use of marketing buzzword sometimes just being overloaded, without the truest intent of explaining the term to the masses.

But as time goes by, I don't think that the bandwagon will not be going to end soon, so does with scammers that keep filling this space.

OP you make hype sound so bad 🤣 but isn't that the real reason why everyone is making huge money since Covid era began in 2020? Without hype we will only make 10% to 30% gains here and there but with hype surrounding meme coins, DeFI, NFT and metaverse many new whales are been born and some are now millionaires, respect hype as much as you'd respect bitcoin halving

right, it always happen in crypto because time is very important in crypto and many of token in a market and every time all token will not give you profit, its all depend on trend like Defi, NFT, Metaverse and you can earn to follow these trend at a right time.

I see things differently and I believe that NFT will end very badly, many people are creating their own NFTs and selling them on opensea with no single usability, it's why I prefer in game NFTs also metaverse won't be fully ready until few years more so all we are currently seeing is just mere hype which can fade away any time, in two or three more years we will see new use cases again, all this is just like a rollercoaster ride that won't ever end

That's everywhere! The market dynamics change after a certain interval. Same happens in every market and most prominently in web and fashion segment. Metaverse is indeed the next biggest thing because big tech giants like Facebook is betting big on it. So web 3.0 is not just a hype I would say! If you want a perfect example of hype - it is NFT and meme coins. These will disappear sooner than later. NFT will live but in a different way within metaverse.

Exactly, utilities like ICO, IEO, DeFI are slowly fading away cos no one is talking about them anymore, since 2020 we've seen meme coins era NFT and metaverse I do believe that Play2earn will live longer than many other utilities but with time another good utility will come up, crypto space is full of seasonal utilities that's my point as time goes by they will be forgotten.

I think Play2earn in connection with the NFT and Metaverse will stay with us for a very long time. If you are asking if there is anything new on the horizon, unfortunately not yet. In my opinion, the Metaverse will be something that investors will pay attention to for a while. When it comes to quick pump & dump, I think meme coins will still be popular.

You are right but few ones will stay longer than others for example smart contract and NFT, the reason why I pick this two is because of their use cases there is no way to stop them because of usability, new projects can't do without smart contracts platforms and NFT is now getting into every successful companies in the real world so these two utilities will be here for a very long time

It's not all of the projects related to the hype will always have faded away but don't you see even the metaverse tokens already exist in the market before the metaverse trend has come to the market? that proves that even a project can think for the future before the trend was coming. All of the things started from the hype. Defi and metaverse were also starting from the hype but many of these platforms are still exist and have bunch of users in the market.

Thats actually true but since the nft market is followed by traditional market like Pepsi, Nike and some brands that starting to release their own nft, we can say that it will stay longer than we expected. I can't say until when is the hype or maybe this is already the new norm. Defi or web3 both are contributing to the welfare of blockchain means it can always be a hype no matter what kind of new feature being hype on.

Not everything is hyped up just for a while. For example, smart contracts are with us all the time and I think they will stay for a long time. I think it is similar with the NFT and the Metaverse. It is related to games that have been with us for a long time and will surely stay for a long time. Due to the fact that NFT and Metaverse are used in games, it will also stay with us for a very long time.

It might be that web 3.0 will be the next thing for next year. Each year, there's another trend that passes and after web 3.0, there might be another thing that could pass on again.
Let us assume and say that 3.0 has already been on trend and hype, well, the hype makers will have another thing to carry on and going make it another popular thing to us.
