If they would have blocked a blog in the us the hell went lose , all the talks about the nsa cia etc , if the russians do this to 30 000 websites it's nothing , it's done to protect the children.

May be some of those sites were unfairly blocked. But that number (30,000) is much lower than the number of websites blocked by the United States authorities in any single week's time.

Are you quoting this guy for real =)))))?
Do you have a clue who this guy is?

The article is from infowars , read the original stuff...

As with previous seizures, ICE convinced a District Court judge to sign a seizure warrant, and then contacted the domain registries to point the domains in question to a server that hosts the warning message. However, somewhere in this process a mistake was made and as a result the domain of a large DNS service provider was seized.

The domain in question is mooo.com, which belongs to the DNS provider FreeDNS. It is the most popular shared domain at afraid.org and as a result of the authorities’ actions a massive 84,000 subdomains were wrongfully seized as well. All sites were redirected to the banner below.

Eventually, on Sunday the domain seizure was reverted and the subdomains slowly started to point to the old sites again instead of the accusatory banner

So , any more ?
I love to debunk those propaganda blogs...

“99% of sites currently blocked in Russia are illegally being subjected to blocking,” Kozlyuk explained.

“At the moment, in quantitative terms, it’s more than 30,000 sites, but decisions under the law have only been issued against 450 of them. The remaining sites are being blocked just because they are on the same IP address as those carrying the illegal material.”

Some of the blogs contain far-right material. The Russian extremists use social media (including blogs) to spread illegal material online. Remember the double beheading of the Tajik and the Daghestani in Moscow? Blogs were used to spread the video. That said, some of the blogs related to opposition activism might also be banned. But I don't know how many, and what proportion, out of the total.

Also, there are blogs in Russian language dealing with the preparation of Krokodil, manufacturing of explosives.etc

Yeah  , yeah.. what about freedom of speech?

Stop with your double standards.

According to the latest Gallup poll, almost 15% of the Eastern Ukrainians depend on social media sites such as Vkontakte to receive information, as the Russian channels are blocked there. If they block Livejournal, then more people will migrate to Vkontakte.

Oh... I thought that Livejournal was owned by the Russians. Seems like I was wrong.
There is some company named SUP Media, that manage cyrillic written content and sell ads.

And now is under US law:
LiveJournal Inc.

This one was blocked, and another is still blocked on livejournal.
And livejournal is registered in USA.

http://putnik1.livejournal.com/ is censored.

But this will adversely affect Livejournal guys themselves more than anyone else. They will completely lose their market position in Russia, as many people will dump their service.

A majority of the bloggers in Russia and Ukraine use livejournal, and only a few use the US-based services such as blogger. So even if they try to block the Russian blogs, it won't help much.  Grin
