Took a walk along Venice Beach today, definitely an edge case in American culture.
1. No "we take BTC" signs anywhere among the head shops. medical 420 clinics, street vendors, restaurants, surf shops, etc. Not surprising, given the flea market atmosphere. A little surprising, given the "advanced" cultural position of Venice Beach, depending on which direction you think is forward.
2. One of the many booths was manned by a clean cut, serious young man promoting systemaccounting.org. To my simple mind, the proposition seemed to have similar principles as bitcoin with respect to banking, fiat, and the Fed (although his target was the Treasury). When asked if his stuff was about bitcoin, he said, "no, that's a different software".
