🤩Finally Married🤩
Two more verified Twitter accounts have been found, using them to promote fake giveaway websites. ...
Seems like these kind of accounts are bought right? And just to have these accounts to act to some frauds after a long time is quite an obvious thing. Though I wonder what theybget from this kind of spam they're  making on Twitter? 🤔

It is the reason why I am very cautious participating in free airdrops and giveaways in Twitter, even they have a verified badge because scammers always take advantage on non-techie people that they are not aware of this kind of illegal schemes. I also think it is not only happening on twitter that it usually happens all over the surface web.

If only they cared about their security as much as political nonsense...

As far as I know these could be previously verified accounts that was sold by the owner to a third person or maybe they were just hacked and the real owner of these accounts now having a hard time recovering their accounts specially knowing how slow twitter is in the support department and issues regarding accounts, but I know for a fact that they do not pass anyone as verified account that easily.

If that is the case here they really should be adding some extra layer of security to make sure verified accounts are not being used by anyone other than the real owner which did the initial verification as I really don't think so they have such a thing implemented now since they still lack proper security measurements even after that last embarrassing hacking incident a few months ago that included almost all known verified accounts.

Another verified account is being used to promote fake giveaway. The group that is promoting these fake giveaways may have a lot of such verified accounts. Because they are using one account after another to promote fake giveaways in a big way.

It's always been like that, and it'll be like that in the future. Whether it's a letter from a Nigerian prince or a 'verified' twitter account, the modus operandi of scammers is always the same.
A promise of a huge 'reward' for a relatively small 'investment.' Well, rinse and repeat. And there will always be gullible and greedy people who fall for deception.

Yeah. These activities of such people will never be completely stopped, because it is almost impossible to eradicate them. These scammers will give up when people no longer fall into such traps. They can now handle these scams because they are getting victims every day.

So everyone should be warned not to fall prey to such scams.

They used verified twitter accounts so that newbies can easily believe whatever they say, it's an old trick that still works because we have millions of crypto newbies that head to twitter to vital information without knowing that they aren't legit info but a format to rob them

Since scammers are now using every way to scam, now everyone should be a little extra careful. And they have been using verified accounts for the purpose of scamming newbies, trying to mislead them. The number of new investors in the bull market increases tremendously, causing scammers to scam new investors by sharing misinformation and tempting offers.

Getting verified were pretty easier last year before Twitter put it on hold for sometime to work on their authentication, i almost got verified last year becuse of my number of active followers i applied for it and the process was as easy as ABC I was at the  final stage before Jack put it on hold due to high demand. There are other few sources were people paying to get verified tick

The hacking of popular users and using it to promote fake giveaways like Elon's also did promote cryptocurrency but its the scam that made it ugly.

Using these not so popular users can still entice newbies for this kind of strategy. Users think that it's okay to promote and wait for the pay but it's just not making it healthy as you are also helping them scam. I just hope they read the comments before getting involved in the giveaway promotion. When someone says " its a scam" in the comment section, they should also investigate.

I usually found these hacked verified accounts on some of elon tweets. I suggest to anyone that report those sus verified twitter accounts promoting scam giveaways so that twitter will work on that immediately. On the other hand, don't get fooled any crypto giveaways that double or triple your deposited crypto coz its 100% scam.

If they ask you to send money first before you get your reward then that's an obvious 100% scam.

No one will send his money to other person that easy because trust issues in an investments or transactions are really necessary.

Also, it is much better to earn money by the use of hardwork than wasting your time searching for an instant money.

It's either Elon's twitter account has been hacked again or another edited image circulating around social media.

Its edited ,I saw that in Facebook and I check elon's twitter the same day and no mention of that fake giveaway.they use that edited tweet to promote in other hacked twitter account and saying they receive it. so other people that following those hacked account will believe that its real giveaway which in reality its not and only want to stole other peoples bitcoins. BTW elons tweet edited the same day he mention doge on his tweet.

By checking the tweet history of Elon Musk, you can verify there are not any recent tweets regarding that giveaway. Therefore, it could be edited as there are similar tweets reported in the forum last year, which can be seen in this thread.
[1] Have you ever heard of FAKE Elon Musk giveaways? Here is one...

Nonetheless, those scammers won't stop portraying prominent figures and personalities. Thus, we should be vigilant in participating in any giveaway, especially on Twitter and Instagram which has been a place for a scammer to conduct their awful activities. We should be aware that those verified accounts could possibly be hijacked from a verified user, so stay informed with their different scheme.

So this is another Twitter hack like last year, huh? Back then, celebrities were promoting some sort of fake giveaway or bitcoin doubler, as well.

Yeah, you've also seen those scamming news before regarding famous celebrities' twitter account getting hacked.

They really promote fake giveaways and fraud to help themselves earn money by fooling investors.

Verified twitter account and popular personalities are really effective to bait people especially if they are not knowledgeable about these scams. We are glad that we have this kind of community or forum so that we can some how learn the do's and dont's in a cryptocurrency investment. Investors, please be aware about the platforms that you are accessing in the internet.

How did the 2nd account even become verified at 400+ followers? Shocked

I didn't know it's possible to get the blue tick with that kind of account, But it's probably a hacked account, or it's either they just don't know what they are sharing or they might be part of the scam.

We don't know how Twitter verify or check each account if it is a legitimate account, the 1st account seems to have a large audience but the 2nd one doesn't. But I guess it is still social media so they could share whatever they want.

Those are probably hack accounts, or probably criminals bought them underground to look like their scam is legit. Not the first time that I have seen a verified twitter promoting fake giveaways. I can't remember, but I came across someone, and then later she confirmed that her account was hacked. So moral lesson is that we should be very careful of this well known social media platforms as they are haven for scammers are well.

Surprisingly though, there are still few crypto giveaways in Twitter and they are giving away free fidget spinner shitcoins LOL! Nonetheless, always proceed with caution before engaging into these types of airdrop/giveaways or perhaps, as much as possible avoid such offers.

This have been around for many years now, twitter is the place you don't want to be for anything crypto related because you will be fooled or you will be forced to do something you never had in mind to do, there are too many confusions on Twitter, it's also well known for fake tokens

I won't lie I was once driven by people's idea of money making in crypto space, whenever someone said a project is good I always look into it but now I see it's a complete waste of time, the truth about twitter is 90% of crypto things on Twitter are lies, probably based on fake hypes, those accounts are hacked

This is why very important to read, research, what really is going on, sometimes if we just click anything advertising something on Twitter we will be in the loop, and may also spread the same giveaway, link and hashtags are one of those that are being used by a scammer, with that you tend to believe it's legit because once you check the account its verified, but the links given by the scammer are not.
Where scammers are hiding:
Links
Personal message
Best thing to do is go to the official website before clicking any links, or in the official site for sure they have the links or form of the giveaway
if you can't see them on the site it's fake.

These people don't seem popular and looking at names, they sound scammy. Malicious actors likely found some way to get easy blue ticks.

Edit: searched for the names, they didn't exist on Twitter. I bet if you were search for these people's avatar, you would find them they belonged to someone else.

So those who see the verified account and easily believe it should be more careful. Because now there are a lot of fake accounts, whose main job is how to easily trap and scam newbies.
They are really verified accounts. But the problem here is those who are not aware how flexible Twitter can be. There are some high profile verified accounts that has been used on scamming people. How this is done? Simple, they just editing their account profile and dropping some few post which the original owner has been posted.  Indeed normal followers might considered this as legit seeing the blue check symbol. But the truth is they were just copied and used by scammers.

People should do extra careful when checking some sort of giveaway.

More and more specific fraud methods are used by scammers. Even account hacks like this on twitter are very common. Is twitter security so bad that hacks keep happening. even scammers also create a domain similar to Twitter and display a page similar to the Elonmusk account. Elonmusk Twitter becomes a place for scammers to create fake giveaway scams and such and is very popular when elonmusk talks about Doge every day.

Having said that, users should just basically be careful on social media, Twitter and others, especially Telegram, you'll not get Bitcoins through giveaways, and you can't simply get rich quick, do you research as always and don't follow advice, analysis or whatever from 'experts', if you take responsibility, it's not possible to get scammed.
If anyone wants to be a millionaire overnight then no one can keep far from this type of free giveaway based trap because scammers are specifically targeting them and reaching their potential users through social media like twitter and telegram. Due to twitter's acceptability in crypto space people follow twitter to get updates but i don't know how many people justify the legality of any announcement before running after something like this. In this case investors have to spend a good amount of time for research properly before taking final decision about any kinda crypto related investment.

Scammers are trying their best to take every single chances by launching fake giveways and they know well still some people exist who think giveaway and airdrops are the only way of earning crypto currency.

True, how did this account with few followers get verified, maybe some backdoor verification probably with the main motive of defrauding people.

It's so weird that this account haven't tweeted since 2017 or maybe tweet was deleted or something

Twitter fake giveaways aren't slowing down atall and wondering if Twitter is actually working on some features to decrease that. I guess need to be aware and learn how to spot a fake giveaway below.

If you're being asked to send fund
If you have been asked for your private key/seed phrase
Always check the URL of whatever websites you are in as some just look almost the same.
If it's too good to be true then it probably is. Let's stay vigilant and safe out there

Is there a way scammers fake Twitter verification, cause AFAIK, to have your account verified on Twitter isn't that much easy, I know it's possible some verified accounts have been hacked and used to scam, but what about some unpopular accounts with very few followers, but still verified and used to perpetrate scam.

Its not clear, is that Elon musk and it have a verified tick, I can't say much for the other account and about how their verification was giving to the account, but If twitter verified. Elon musk then it should be the real one, verification is more hard even for those having fake verification when the name they are using is a name of a popular person.
What -Newbie- and all are to know is
+ even if the verification is correct and account is owned by the real person, a disclaimer can be made, verification doesn't mean you can be insensitive

+search up the account name, the real person may come up with all their legal accounts, then compare with the fake account.

+give away asking you to give your fund/belongings -your ATM card number, sensitive detail- to them are highly chanced to be fake.

The fake giveaway is being widely promoted by some verified Twitter accounts. It is a matter of wondering whether those accounts really belong to the original owner, or whether these accounts have come to these scammers illegally who are now using these accounts to promote fake giveaways for the purpose of scam. Many times such accounts are verified by scammers using various shortcuts.
Few days earlier multiple popular twitter account were hacked and scammers made free giveaway posts. Although it was fixed by twitter authority within a short time but damage was done. Worldwide crypto users were surprised after seeing that hacking and it is expected when you get up from bed and see Bill gate or Elon Musk is offering free BTC giveaway.

I really don't know how this guys is using this verified account to spread his money stealing trap but people will easily trust it after seeing the blue badge. I don’t know how strict is twitter's blue badge verification or they are just giving it easily.
