This is the same situation as you've lost your password. I would recommend you to figure out why the password is wrong, might be something wrong with the client if you are certain if the password is correct.

Anyways, to create (restore) a wallet, you have to rename the wallet file first, so that it won't find the default wallet. Go to folder and go to ~/.electrum . You should be able to see a wallet folder. Click on it and rename default_wallet to default_wallet1.

i downloaded Electrum a couple of months back, set it up - I have my password, wallet address and 12 word key.

Today i wanted to actually look into using it. I click on the app and the first and only option is to input the password.

So i put that in, which i have saved correctly, and it says incorrect password. The only option is 'OK'

So how do I go about recovering the wallet (which is unused at this stage) with my 12 word key.

There's no option to do anything other than input the password
