Hello Febo, i think the question he was really asking is which of these coins if any is undervalued and worth of investment. he likes them both and wanted guidance.

I agree with you, he should really be comparing Siacoin with Maidsafe or Storj or the private placement offering for Dropbox. That would be an apples to apples comparison.

Back to his original question. I think the price is irrelevant for the most part. IMHO really investors should be looking at market caps to decide if a coin is undervalued or not.  The exception is that traders seems to love coins trading below $0.02 or so since you can buy a large of shares.

Siacoin - 426M market cap assumes a price of $0.015869, https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/siacoin/

ViaCoin - 17M market cap assumes a price of $0.745886, https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/viacoin/

So as it stands right now;

ViA = 65.78 cents
Sia =1.40 cents.

Based on current pricing and future potential growth, which one do you think is the better to jump into right now??

I remember everyone saying Via back when it was 10c but now that its already pumped is it still worth it?

Cheers  Smiley

Considering this:

Viacoin seems to be a little brother of Litecoin, scrypt-based coin with fast transactions and multiple catalysts including Segwit Witness implementation and anonymous transactions (see Styx).

What is the point of comparing with Sia? Why not compare it with LTC or tons of other Bitcoin clones.
Compare Sia with Storjx and I forgot few others.

Seems you guys toally lost what is the point of this cryptocoins. It is technology they have the problem they solve. Not a price of it or name or, ...

I think both are good investments, long 44000 SC and long 1600 VIA and would buy more of both on a selloff. I have increased both near recent levels.

Siacoin has cost advantage sversus other cloud storage providers. Siacoin only costs $2/TB per month which is cheaper than Amazon cloud and the gorilla Dropbox. You also have less risk that Siacoin developers are data mining your electronic files and selling your personal information to the higher bidder since your files are encrypted when they are stored on the network. https://steemit.com/money/@stealthtrader/is-siacoin-a-real-competitor-to-dropbox

Via hit 35k sat a couple of days ago and it is worth 24k right now so i think this is a good moment to buy some. It has potential to reach 100 million marketcap IMO.

Can't tell you anything about Sia sorry.
