Yeah I guess it's sorta unnecessary to use the blockchain and decentralization for a videogames altcoin.. but that's the trend.. however in theory the benefit of any decentralized currency is that you won't have a single entity (e.g. a gaming website in this case) having too much influence on coin distribution and whatnot.

i think there will be any projects related with the video games altcoin and i am sure that if there is any benefit that the dev can give to the players, then i think many people that playing the games will be interesting and they will use the coins to continue the games. so far, i am not found any of altcoins related with video games but i think its not easy to create the project, we need to have a good plan and good teams to build trusted from the people. but soon after we can give a proof to the people with our project, then there is many people interesting with our project.

Videogames are definitely a good area to explore for altcoins because
1. the industry is huge
2. there is no current major altcoin which attracts videogamers (only wannabes as far as I can tell)
3. gamers offers awesome community potential

The question I ask you is:
How can we present a token value proposition to investors? What would be the use of these tokens? Let me know your thoughts on this.. I don't see many.

Unless we talk about in-game purchase coins but look what happened to BCY and the apple store.

Rewarded tokens in such game won't have any value if non-useble for other goals. Tokens may be replacable by armories in the game or help make plans for strategc games. I bought RustBits tokens and other cards of the game; the Beta version will be lunched earlier next year. We will see what happened. Last ICO i followed in games sector is Reality-Clash (just finished the ICO) and they are about to prepare cards for different stages of the game but not rewarding players. I think the based game tokens have the great potentials compared to other services providedby new startups. I want also to mention Bellacoin which has a lot of opportunities to make a reat growth but i think developpers are adding no value to it.

That's my point.. with a videogame altcoin it is easy to think of ways the token will be distributed (e.g. trophies given to good players, or people who make good contributions in the online community) but the question is how you can attach value and use to those tokens.
Buying cards is a possibility, which BitCrystals was also doing.
I'll check those RustBits, RealityClash and BellaCoin which you suggested.. or could you give me a tl; dr before I look into them?
Also what's your opinion on Enjine Coin (or whatever its name is)?

Another question is how can you this in a decentralized matter? Can it be done in a decentralized matter?

The only games that I have heard of would be Lordmancer II and Prospectors. I have not tried them both though I just read through their threads. Actually got curious as to what might be the future of gaming once the blockchain technology got integrated with it.

There are a lot of gamers and there a lot of games to play. So if you add altcoins to that you will actually gain a lot of money. Because nearly everybody plays games on their laptop etc.

They will need to also give the gamers some coins because its unfair if the manager get only the money.

At one stage there was quite a lot of interest in BCY, or Bit Crystals. They had this videogame and the crystals could be earned through normal playing or used to purchased cards. Nice isn't it? Unfortunately one day Apple decided that they don't allow use of crypto in their store because that would bypass their transaction system.. needless to say, that was the end of BCY.

How hard would it be to have a video game that generates an altcoin as part of the in-game currency? I personally want the fidget spinner app to be one. Or even Terraria. What does it take to incorporate blockchain technology to mean something computed at something as easy as a touch?

It can be done, check out huntercoin website (search huntercoin on coinmarketcap). Electroneum is also doing something similar as to what you describe.

I think in the near future will be a universal platform for games, the question of how soon the gaming industry will take the blockchain and the more will introduce altcoins)

so people who playing the video game will get some altcoin ?
hopely will going to be real not only a concept mate  Wink

I think in this space is tough for these types of applications because it means having a large network effect of game developers using the technology which would probably be eating into their centralized in game currency money making systems - like the freemium model. Enjin oin is a well known one. TappProject.net is another one that is trying to reward gamers with cryptocurrency - i.e. people playing games can earn real altcoin with their gameplay.

I like the concept and a few projects have attempted it. The problem is, the Enjincoin games and concepts look terrible & almost entirely non-existent.

Some horrible looking games nobody would ever play without it being tied to actual "currency" (even if it's crypto)

I think this falls in the "easier said than done" category. The concept will take off once someone actually takes the time to design a worthwhile game or set of games. (hint... Enjincoin isn't it)

YOu can try to visit nexium project which already used their own cryptocurrency for their platform. you can earn the more necium if you are playing the game, and just visit the main thread and read the more news.

Pretty neat stuff. But I think it would be overwhelming to have so many separate games. I think the video game structure should match the decentralized nature of cryptocurrency.
