Matlab is fine, but I still prefer R.

Besides, R is free, and very heavily supported by a huge and helpful community.

The reason why I posted a link to Matlab webinars is because I got the impression that Whydifficult was more interested in your methodology of devising an algo strategy rather than in the software. Your presentation was short and due to time constraints could not be very detailed. He will find extensions of your ideas in those webinars.

There is no disagreement between you and me on the software. Matlab is way too expensive  Cheesy

Awesome talk! I learned a lot, thanks.

You might also like (if you already haven't seen) to see webinars by Matlab guys (you will need to register) http://www.mathworks.com/products/trading/webinars.html?nocookie=true

Start with ''Algorithmic Trading with MATLAB for Financial Applications''. They have a similar approach to Noah's.
