While cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin have taken over the internet the possibilities in VR are even greater. Imagine going out and buying your goods in a virtual store and having it shipped to your home. Like srsly does anyone else not see this potential? I dont know about Bitcoin being in this but ik some designated currencies would be. Anyways I got the idea about this from this article http://panture.com/virtual-reality-currency/#more-409. Good read but i think a bit too futuristic but idk always good to be hopeful

Imagine this angle

Made with sktchup, unity, etc. Amazon, for example, builds a private client it offers to shoppers to download and install, like the VR clients (Second Life, Open Sim, etc). They fire it up and it's a 3D virtual Amazon warehouse with 3D representation builds of the products that you can examine...with a sandbox where you can arrange items in some such way (like if you are decorating a room) to get an idea how it'll look or coordinate. Or if it's auto stuff, to virtually build an engine or change tires, or gardening, virtual planting - all as a training tool.

You add items to your cart and purchase from the client and it ends up at your door.

Netflix virtual video store...watch online via the client or select to have them sent to your home. Or, have the drone bring em  Grin

AR is awesome too. Once Layar figures out how to get rid of the porn spammers it could take off pretty high.

Many VR grids are now considering or trying to implement ways of using btc as a means of payment to get around the pay pal or credit card problem. It's coming.

I don't know about augmented reality (half real/half constructed) because it's just it, a transparent monitor and camera in front of your glasses ... btw privacy issues applied.

On full virtual reality you can build a totally new worlds as far as you got a big imagination ...
welcome to matrix "the constructor"

or less powerful tech
http://www.riftenabled.com/admin/apps/

Also you can create 360 movies about your store ... like
http://www.kolor.com/360-video/gallery

and sure, yes, put your advertise in it ...

Well, for me we should stop to mess up with real/natural world resources/ecosystem, stop to buy things we don't need to survive... instead we should buy bits/hashes/sensations on virtual world.

I only see this being a novelty. Like Second Life. It's much easier to do text-based searches, apply filters, and quickly scroll through products on a flat surface than it is to navigate through physical stores in 3D. And I'd bet the virtual representations of the products would be much nicer than the physical.

Augmented reality will probably be a big thing in the future though. Being able to price compare with other local stores on the fly, and read third party reviews and ratings with something like Google Glass would be nice.

As cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin have taken the world by surprise and established their presence, currencies in virtual realities are also being looked into by the likes of many eager tech companies. With possibilities of creating new worlds people could interact in one can only wonder if a centralized currency would be used or if the company programming the virtual reality decides to make their own currency.

This specialized currency would not only be backed up by said company, but also be designed and programmed specifically for virtual reality use.

A virtual reality that lets the user immerse themselves would be the first step, followed by the ability to interact. Initially the ability to interact would be primitive, only to slowly advance as the technology gradually streamlines itself.

Once a company develops a functioning virtual reality world it can move on to monetizing it. Instead of trying to integrate the US dollar, or any other currency for that matter, the company could easily develop its own currency that’s exchanged at a free-market exchange rate. The scenarios of possibilities are endless and could open up unheard of opportunities in this innovative market.

So you take a real store/supermarket and offer a VR version online?
That sounds cool.
