I am not sure I will goto Beijing where the headquarter of BITMAIN is, after reading some horrible story about the S2 here on the forum.

Please do if you can, I'm sure several of us are interested in their next offering if any.  S3 on 40nm or 28nm chips perhaps?

Please go. By the way, what is the "horrible story"?

There are a lot of small workshops making the Dragon 1T miners in the area Shenzhen and Dongguan.
Not all of them deliver a product with good build quality.
It's safe to buy from the bigger manufaturers and it also depends who you are.
I don't know how they treat the small guys, but if you consider to buy anything, make sure you got
the contact info from the people who are in charge, don't deal with the lower staff.

The PSU that come with the new Dragon 1T miners from the factory in Dongguan is 1200 watt 80 gold plus
instead of the 1000 watt PSU that comes with the older versions of the Dragon 1T miners.
The PSU is from a Taiwanese factory that operates in the budget catagory.
When the PSU runs, it runs smooth and reliable. Don't turn it off instantly, pull out the ethernet cable first
to let the miner become idle and then turn off the PSU can safe you a lot of headdache.
These cheap ass PSU are not like Seasonic or Be Quiet build quality with a lot of build in protection that
you can switch on and off whenever you like it.
These cheap Taiwanese PSU are like old men, when they run, they run smooth, but don't ask them to stop
immediately, because they will fall.

The mining boards themself are rock solid.

I got a pm from asiabtc(Jack) from Lightningasic a couple days ago with his telephone number and an invitation to visit him.
I call him today and will visit him next week, it's only a half hour by car from where I am located to downtown Shenzhen.
I am not sure I will goto Beijing where the headquarter of BITMAIN is, after reading some horrible story about the S2 here on the forum.

I was today at the factory of the Dragon 1T miner.
One of my miners I ordered to test had a faulty PSU.
The boards themself are mining with no problems with a new PSU.
Nancy the manager had it replaced with a brand new miner.

Outside at the factory gate I came in contact with Thomas, who was there for an American consortium.
He was also visiting Asic manufaturers like me.
We had a nice chat.
Thomas keep in touch.

So that's why every miner I order new from China has some dust in them.   Tongue

"Burn in tests"

Well of course, that's like a standard practice these days.

Don't give a rats ass if they mine with the hardware before the sell it to me and ship it within 48hrs after I pay for it.

What I do mind is when it doesn't ship on time and if it arrives in broken pieces or the hardware/software itself is flakey crap that stalls, overheats or psu's crap out.

A little dust never stopped me from mining.

I took the plane from Amsterdam airport on 28 april and arrived in China at the the 29 of april in Shenzhen.
I have been visiting a mainly Avalon manufaturer at the day of arrival.

All manufacturers have their own asic farm.

Cases of the new 1.6T Avalon 3 asic miners.

The first batch of Avalon are under specs.
I couldn't take more than 3 pictures, my Samsung note 2 with MIUI OS stopped working, because of low battery.
15 hours in the plane suck out everything from the battery.

The coming monday I will goto Dong Guan to visit the manufaturer of the Dragon 1T miner.
I have also contact BITMAIN, but their office is in Beijing, I have to flight there.

I have been also working on a website this week, it's working, but do not use it to order.
It's in a test fase and price and photo's are not from me.
I have to fill the empty spaces.

I will keep you guys/girls informed.
