President of Russia Vladimir Putin says that it is possible to use bitcoins for some operations.

Putin discussed bitcoin and the problem of digital currencies with the participants of Klyazma Youth Forum, says Kremlin.

Putin noted that he discussed the digital currency with the governor of Russian Central Bank, Elvira Nabiullina. "People in Central Bank has very professional position [on bitcoin]. We do not reject it. Yet there are serious and real problems with the acceptance [of this currency]"

Press-secretary of Vladimir Putin Dimitry Peskov later noted, that Vladimir Putin did not speak in support of bitcoin.

I think that Putin have good motivation and reason for this speech.
His country is under sanctions of Western countries because of the crisis in Ukraine, and this influence the Russian economy, finance, cash flows etc.
Anything that can help avoid the financial restriction is obviously welcome.

The fact that he didn't condemn bitcoins is enough of a positive to take out of this article. Frankly, having the bitcoin word come out of his mouth at all is plenty of advertisement which will spur Russians to look into further.
Good to hear that Putin is neutral on Bitcoin and its users
It means that development is possible to some extent.
