VMC doesn't bother refunding hardware reviewers.
The self-moderated VMC thread on this forum was started, and is astroturfed, by heavily-invested shills who are hoping to recoup some of their losses (shares currently trading at ~7% of the issue price).
The company is currently under investigation for securities fraud and has a pending civil lawsuit.
