The Block Chain has unfortunately taken a back seat to my other ventures right now.  I still think we'll put out at least one episode to see if it resonates with people, but it might not be for a couple of weeks.
If you're still looking for cohosts, I'd be interested. Any fellow fan of Irrational Behavior can't be all bad. Cheesy  (Did you, by any chance, listen to GFW Radio back in its day?)

I swear I did a search for Bitcoin Podcasts and the only other one is really just the BitTalk Podcast, just doing a search of something else Podcast related wtih Bitcoins and found this.

If you guys are still doing something, let me know, cause if you'll notice my signature it was something I was doing myself and popped out today.

I do like "The Block Chain" but "The Chain Gang" comes to mind as well......

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

LOL! I wondered that as well so threw it out to the board. I was thinking in terms of the community, "the gang" involved with the block chains but of course it's not the first thing that comes to mind is it?

We've got a cast; now we need a name.  Please vote in the poll at the top of this thread.  Also feel free to post your own name suggestions.  Thanks.

You should change the title of this thread to "Vote on the name of our Podcast" or something like that.

I personally like bitCast, but CoinCast is close enough!  Looking forward to it!

By the way, we've had some inquiries about helping out with the podcast behind the scenes.  We do need people for the technical and promotional side as well, so feel free to contact us if you want to get involved but don't want to be behind a mic.

I and the other members of The Strong Force LLC, (creators of SquareWear.biz) are starting Bitcoin podcast.  We need at least one other person to be a regular on the cast.  This will likely start as a weekly podcast and will cover Bitcoin news, market stuff, interviews with people involved in Bitcoin development or business, personal stories, and general discussion.

Please PM me if you are interested.  It helps if you are:
  • Knowledgeable in mathematics, cryptography, algorithms, or related fields
  • Experienced with podcasting (both the technical and performance aspects)
  • Not brand new to Bitcoin
  • Willing to accept payment in bitcoin
  • Able to correspond & coordinate with the rest of the team frequently over email/other online methods
  • Able to access a solid internet connection (Unless you live in Georgia, we're going to be recording this over the internet)
  • Entertaining! No one likes to listen to boring people
  • Proficient in English (but we have no preference as your nationality/location)
Anyone we hire will be paid (in BTC) a nominal per show fee and a negotiated percentage of any advertising revenue.

If you want to know podcasts we're influenced by:
Planet Money
Marketplace
Freakonomics Radio
This American Life
Diggnation
Stuff you should know
Science Friday
Massively Online Gamer (not around anymore)
Virgin Worlds (not around anymore, well, not really)
Irrational Behavior
Atheist Experience

(That's a pretty diverse list in terms of formats, but it gives you some idea of the kinds of formats we like)
