So we do need to contact you to withdraw from that wallet? That would take out the meaning in having your own wallet anyway, And if you no longer provide this service then these coins would be stuck?

Yeah. I know. This thread was also more to check if anyone is unterested in such things at all. There will probably be an open source software later.

This would be really neat if true. I think you would probably make a lot more money making your method open source and allowing people to do it themselves, accepting donations.

Frankly speaking, you are charging people to have them send their Bitcoins to you, I can't think of anyone in their right mind that would do so. More than a few people (myself included) are hesitant to trust even well known physical coin makers like Smoothie/Casascius/OGNasty with our private keys, and they have a significant business presence and stake for not scamming. I'm sure plenty of people  would throw $10 your way as a thank you for allowing them to make their own BTC images if you make your method open source.

At the moment this is only possible for digital copies of the image however I am indeed working on getting this working for physical images, too.

That sounds pretty interesting. Imaging having a picture hanging on the wall thats actually hidden bitcoins. Neat O!

The short version: I have developed a method that allows me to store and retrieve bitcoins in and from images.

Long version: I invented a way to store an offline Bitcoin wallet in an image allowing you to store, hide and send Bitcoins in form of an image. This image can be any image of your choice (If not pornographic or illegal). I do not store any private keys or images. For that reason you have to carefully keep the image. Lost image = Lost Bitcoins. After your purchase I send you a link to a zip file containing your image. It will destroy itself once opened once. Be sure to save the image. Also I will send you a Bitcoin address belonging to the image. All Bitcoins you send to it are then on the offline wallet stored inside the image. To retrieve Bitcoins from the image you at the moment have to contact me (send me the image, how many Bitcoins to retrieve and the receiver Bitcoin address). Soon there will be a web interface for it.

- Empty image offline wallet (random bitcoin address): 1$
- Empty image offline wallet (vanity bitcoin address): 1$ + 1$/hour of calculation power needed to generate the address using a gaming PC and gaming Notebook at the same time
- Image offline wallet made from an existing address and private key: 1.5$
