I see your point. VR could be like this “safe haven” where you can do everything your heart desires without being judged or punished for it. Maybe this is one of the benefits of the proposed virtual world in the future?

Considering the fact that most people already use virtual means of making their fantasies come true, it will definitely be an outlet for such behavior.

For example, sex toys are some of the highest selling products on Amazon. Online porn is obviously huge. Why? People don't like to be seen at sex shops and want these taboo desires' manifestations to remain anonymous.

This is understandable considering our politically correct society where animal urges are looked down upon and must be repressed.

I've never even thought of VR as a "crime" platform. I usually play Robot Recall. I remember when I first played it and lost my balance while on a train  Cheesy

Are there any VR enthusiasts in here?

I would like to know.. if you have some.. let's say fantasies that you don't want to brag about wide open in front of the world and you can't fulfill them without harming others, is VR the place to get satisfaction?
Let me know what should i invest in in order to be able to satisfy my brain needs Smiley

Not sure of what to recommend but you probably need to be connected to some sort of server to help yourself. Hopefully, there are quite a significant amount projects working on making people's lives easier, so you're gonna have to be a bit patient.

I do play VR games. It’s an escape. So I get what you mean about how it can serve as a platform for deviant thoughts and behavior. I don’t see anything wrong with it, because no physical harm can be done in virtual reality, right?

What, like a crime? I would be very concerned if someone says they have fantasies about doing something that will cause harm to other people. Even if it's in VR, it's still not something you should be "fantasizing" about.

I was thinking more regarding sexual, bondage stuff for example Smiley

Personally, I believe that after you try VR a few times it becomes 'nothing special'. I still like the experience but it's not reality!
"Real reality" > "Virtual Reality" because of the feelings you have and risks and everything  Grin

I used to program some games in VR and AR just for fun but now I stopped
