Overstock, Expedia, and Newegg are retail places that SELL the coins people spend, PayPal is person to person where people have to BUY bitcoin to send. Not all of those people will then sell coins, therefore there would be buying pressure where with the other there is selling.
It's not that hard to understand.
Thanks for explaining these complex mechanics to me, with all my years of advanced computer science and economics knowledge I never would have come to this conclusion on my own. Let's chat more about this in a few days, weeks, or even months, when the price has exploded upwards like you said because of this seemingly earth-shattering bitcoin news.

yes, but that is the overall ratio. Here 7.5k of asks are within $30. Downwards $30 is also 2.7k BTC (which is a lot less, but still quite substantial).

Yes. It was rather disturbing and a bit creepy for some reason. But if I just close my eyes and picture bullet trains, rockets and moons it is quite beautiful.

yes, less knowledgeable poeple might see apple's new payment system as bitcoins killer. how can a bunch of nerds compete against such a giant like apple? bitcoin is doomed, bla bla bla.
I see apple's new payment system as pure hype. taking adv of the confusion bitcoin has caused, trying to pretend to be an alternative to bitcoin. exactly as canada's mint chip did.
It hasn't yet, Irelands central bank is supporting their next attempt at electronic spending vouchers.

Facebook has been trying to get into the money transmitting business for a long time. Cant see em going anywhere near Bitcoin with the twins sitting there.

Do you have a idea about the work behind a video like this ? It's weeks and lot of $.
It's not a fake and EVERY world was chosen carefully and triple checked...
It would be some work, but not much $.
I agree... someone with the correct skill set and a bunch of stock photography and a good editing suite and experience could reproduce this in hours, if not days... I am leaning towards this being legit though.. it seems to have got the right branding tone etc ...... though would not overly surprise me if it was not... but someone would have gone through an awful lot of trouble for it to be a hoax... (making it, getting it posted via a hack? etc)
