That's too much links for the OP, and many of them are unrelated to the OP's trouble, they are a newbie as well so it is always better to keep it simple with noobs. To the OP: it is basically obvious that you are unfamiliar with even the basics of a Bitcoin wallet or crypto exchange, so i suggest you hold on and provide more information about the transfer you are attempting to make, to whom and the wallet you are using. Newbies are easily scammed in the network, thus it is in your best interest to contribute to the discussion in this thread and provide more information.
Noted and agreed, i know newbies should not be bombarded with so much information that they are unable to accumulate in a shorter period of time, and when they are just new to the industry they mostly gave up after seeing the struggle they have to go through. But the rank of newbies depends on their mentality level. Like a member might have lower and higher IQ levels. So. I thought i should leave it to the newbie to adopt one.

Like i avoid judging anyone even if they are pro or newbies. So i provided those links which i recently knew about due to another topic so i thought these must be of great importance to the OP.

How do you add money to your wallet to pay bitcoin to someone or a company?

I hit send and it says I don't have enough funds but I don't see anywhere that it allows me to add funds.

Hmm most possibly you are using some sort of hot wallet, most of the wallets now allow direct visa payment to buy crypto still there are many wallets that don't allow you to buy directly, I think you should, first of all, buy crypto through P2P or any centralized mode you can access after that you can transfer your funds to personal wallets then you can trade easily. There are so many P2P trade platforms and you can even use exchanges like Binance. OKX for your P2P trade and direct bank buying. Be careful while trading.

Ops if you are looking for ways to send a bigger amount that exceed your current balance, for that all you need to do is to add more Bitcoin by sending the Bitcoin to the wallet holding your current Bitcoin.

Secondly may be you may have not left a few sats to cover for the network fees for the transactions and if that be the case you can either reduce the amount you want to send to cover for fees.

It is impossible for you to send bitcoin from your wallet when you don't have any bitcoin in your wallet. Since you already have a wallet, you can buy bitcoin from a Centralized exchange. Binance is more easy to understand as a newbie because it has various currency and you can buy using your master card.

After that don't leave your bitcoin there you should transfer it back to your new wallet. Which type of wallet did you created, hope it is a noncustodial wallet like electrum or blue wallet. You should read the articles provided for you by forum members for easy understanding.

You can use trading platforms such as Binance (for this platform, you need to go through the KYC process). If you don't like that option, you can explore non-KYC exchanges listed here: Current list of exchanges without KYC. The original poster (OP) of that thread is Ratimov.
You can add funds to your account using credit cards, bank accounts, or other available methods offered by the exchanger you have chosen.

Additionally, you can also engage in peer-to-peer (P2P) trading, where you ask a "peer" to send bitcoin to your address. In exchange, you'll pay them using methods like PayPal, altcoins, or others based on your agreement.

Once you have successfully received bitcoin(s) in your wallet, you will need the bitcoin (BTC) address of the person or company to whom you'll be sending your bitcoin(s). Simply click on 'send,' enter their BTC address, and confirm the transaction.

Good luck! Don't hesitate to ask any questions if you need further assistance with bitcoin related matters.

As explained before, you cannot send Bitcoin to someone or to a company all of the Bitcoin you have in your wallet because each transactions required fee or a transaction fee therefore you can only send the remaining BTC. Some wallets supported a other payment method for fiat currency to pay when you buy Bitcoin. If the wallet you are using doesn't have that feature where you can pay fiat money to buy BTC then you can buy BTC in an exchange that accept or support other payment ment method before you are sending it to someone else or to your wallet.

Why should you hit a send button and when you know you're having nothing on your wallet, there are many ways you can have bitcoin to your wallet as long as you wish to, just make use of the wallet address you're having and hit the deposit button and select the type of wallet you are using to receive your bitcoin, some wallet are bitcoin supported wallet only while some can receive bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies along, what you wanted to receive is the address that you will copy and send to someone willing to give, sell and reward you with bitcoin, if you're also doing that on an exchange, then you may need to follow the p2p procedures that they laid for you to exchange your fiat for bitcoin under receive function or buy.

You must to have bitcoin in your wallet to send it to someone or a company.

You can not add money (US dollar, British pound) to your Bitcoin wallet and send bitcoin to someone because you don't have bitcoin to send.

What is money in your context?

What is the wallet you use?

You can try to reduce your amount to send as perhaps you don't have enough satoshis for transaction fee. You will have less trouble if you use non custodial wallets, not custodial wallet.

You may not see add anywhere but certainly there will be a "Deposit" tab, click it and where you can find the deposit address(es) which you can use to add balance before using the send option.

If you really don't have any bitcoin at all then first you need to purchase it from an exchange which is the most easy way but you have to submit KYC then only you can enable fiat deposits to you exchange account.

Any trusted centralized exchange would be fine and quickly transfer to your wallet and make sure you have full control over your key.
That's the easiest way and very convenient way to purchase Bitcoin BUT if you care about privacy, P2P exchange, and Bitcoin ATM would be your best choice.

Please be specific with this, all comments above might be right.  Because you don't have enough balance to send Bitcoin to another address.

Here's a list of you that can choose to purchase Bitcoin depending on your needs.

How do you add money to your wallet to pay bitcoin to someone or a company?

It is an obvious step that you need to buy Bitcoin either from centralized exchanges or P2P.  Then send that Bitcoin to the wallet address you intend to pay with.

I hit send and it says I don't have enough funds but I don't see anywhere that it allows me to add funds.

If you just created a wallet then you can find a wallet address, it is where you send your Bitcoin from the exchanges where you bought your BTC.  Anyway, your questions and situation is so vague since you do not state that you have fund on that wallet. And if ever you have the fund, then it is probably that your sending an amount that is larger than your available balance.

You should be more specific  on the type of wallet a d if possible to get the best answers to your question.
Aside that, you can simply fund your wallet with your card if you're in a country that accepts bitcoin  in countries where bitcoin  isn't accepted,  I think there are options to find ones wallet with either vouchers or code without having any cryptocurrency related words in your transaction descriptions to avoid trace or tracking the transaction.
You can also use exchanges and personally I think exchanges are easy and simpler to use and as a newbie, you should start from there and maybe learn from there.

It’s very simple, there are many ways to buy bitcoin; you can purchase bitcoin from a bitcoin atm, you can also buy bitcoin from centralized exchanges like Binance, or decentralized exchanges like bisq. I prefer using decentralized exchanges for privacy reasons. Once you have successfully bought the bitcoins, you can transfer the bitcoins to your wallet (preferably a non-custodial wallet) and you can make your transactions.

Firstly why would you hit send when you know you haven't even understood how to fund your Bitcoin wallet. I think newbies should prioritize learning before action it can definitely be very helpful for you guys.

Well you can fund you wallet through several ways you can do that through peer to peer and that's giving someone Fiat or any medium of exchange you guys reach and then they send you Bitcoin, make sure you employ an excrow to ensure the safety of the deal. Or you can buy Bitcoin and other crypto-currency from an exchange. There are Decentralized and centralized exchanges you can choose from.

This post is missing a lot of context, first of all, which wallet are you using and which device are you using that wallet on?
Next, do you have funds to send Bitcoin? If no, you have to share your receiving address to someone and they can pay you on that address.
And if you want to send Bitcoin to someone, you want to get their Bitcoin Deposit Address.

Most likely you don't have enough funds to do the payment which you were trying.

It's probably because you have zero funds on that wallet and that's what it says.

I don't see anywhere that it allows me to add funds.
You should tell us what that wallet is because maybe you're using a wallet that's integrated with an exchange and you can do the transaction from there if you wanna load up that wallet. But if not, there's no other way from adding funds to that wallet and all you need to do is to buy it from exchanges, p2p or centralized exchanges as mentioned.

How do you add money to your wallet to pay bitcoin to someone or a company?
Since you're thinking of paying someone or a company with Bitcoin, do you have a contact with those folks? For easier guide, I think that you can ask them to teach you hands on in doing everything if all of the guides mentioned on this thread isn't enough.

Wait a sec! Are you saying you just downloaded the wallet like some random or specific wallet and tried to hit send money option while there is no money. Please do not mind me but this is the most funny thing I have read. No offense I mean no disrespect just saying.

I think you are not just new to this forum but also new to crypto sphere too. And do not know how block chain, transactions and wallets works. Well there are so much threads that I could recommend you but I will first make it easy for you by mentioning some basic summary I have in my mind.

  • You have to buy some token using your real money like us dollar or any national currency you are using and that currency in short known as fiat currency.
  • how will you buy that token? Ways are too many but a good one would only be mentioned I would know in which country you live because Bitcoin ATMs are not available everywhere but one thing is p2p (person to person or peer to peer) it depends on you how you take it. In this you handover your money to some middle exchange like maybe Binance and then the other person will handover tokens to you and deal will be done. No doubt as a newbie p2p becomes so hard don't suggest by watching a video from YT will help you a lot.
  • which exchange or middle source to use for p2p is depend on the availability of exchanges in your country.
  • Once you bought your tokens from any exchange then you can send it into your any wallet like wallets are mainly of two types SoftwareHardware wallets and the types and features are many and different respectively.

I suggest you to read the following thread provided :

How to add money to your wallet all depends on which wallet you are using and which country you are in.
So you should be a little specific so that people will know how to direct you on how to fund your wallet without any issues.

If you don't have any balance in your wallet, you can always buy BTC from P2P platforms that are supported in your country.

@OP Since you are new to the system, a little advice in order to avoid coming back here and complaining of scamming is to make sure you are sending coins to someone you know or a company you trust. There are a lot of scammers out there who will promise you huge profits in order to convince you to send them money that you might never have the chance of getting back. If you are planning on sending the money to a company claiming to be expert's in crypto trading I will advice you proceed with caution because they are likely to be scammers.

Which wallet are you sending the Bitcoin from?

You can add an existing wallet to the wallet you're using if you have your private key or seed phrase.

We need to know the sort of wallet you already have and the wallet you intend to import in order to provide you with appropriate guidance.

If it is not a fake wallet, either of these would like be the reason:

Assuming you have 1 BTC in your wallet and you want to send 1.01 BTC to someone. The amount of bitcoin that you want to send is higher than the amount of money that you have. You will see no enough fund.

Another reason is when you import an address on a wallet and you want to send the bitcoin on the address. You will see the error too because it is a watch only wallet.
