The wallet format contains the root keys for the wallet.

However, it also contains addresses that have been generated.

It would be better if those 2 entries were kept in separate files.

The root key portion could include anything that doesn't change.

I had to restore a wallet from paper backup due to trying to generate 1000 addresses and then cancelling the process midway through (I thought it had crashed).

The wallet does use a system where a backup is created, but having a file that is never modified at all would be safer.
