Rimbit - No mining, just development

Those who follow Rimbit may know that we steer clear of mining.
Instead we have adopted "minting" as part of a Rimbit Users ability to get more Rimbit into their wallet

But this has a drawback, in that like mining, there is an element of expense in form of electricity usage, that for mining is quite substantial in terms of Bitcoin
Rimbit minting does require a system be online, not only for minting purposes, but also to maintain the network as all desktop wallets are also used to verify and confirm transactions.

So as part of the Rimbit Development, we funded a RaspberryPi project by a trusted member, who has put together what we call the RimbitPi that can mint Rimbit and be online 24/7 at a fraction of the electricity consumption compared to a PC or Laptop.

As part of the funding, we setup the user with a 3D printer and additional funds to R&D the Pi project and also develop a WebUI based on an Open Source project and modified to work with Rimbit

All the software needed for a RaspberryPi will be available free and for users who are unsure of what to do, we also have packages ranging from a preconfigured SD Card, all the way to a fully assembled unit, that when run for the first time, will generate a unique Rimbit Address.

As the project develops, we will also include "add-ons" which will be in the form of Mini Printers, QR Code Scanners and FingerPrint readers, that are built to "stack onto" or compliment the RimbitPi

Thats the great thing about how we manage Rimbit as we put funds back into the ecosystem and also fund members with their ideas as well.

The first batch of RimbitPi's have already been spoken for and will be tested by members of our forum, as each and everyone of them has purchased one of these units and will be taking photos and videos of the units running, how they mint and general usage.

The RimbitPi comes with its own LCD screen, so you can monitor what its doing direct from the unit itself http://rimbit.com/threads/new-rimbitpi-setup.467/

It also connects to a Desktop via a WebUI, so you can manage the unit itself

Here is an early video of some testing the developer has made, which has been improved on since then, before the first batch is released
