Just for the record: I was having serious troubles with a payment. First day it was "pending" all the time. The next day the transaction completely disappeared, so I tried to do the transaction again. To my annoyance Electrum told me "not enough funds" while showing the balance from before I did the transaction. so somehow it was aware of the transaction but was not showing it. I tried changing servers. Some servers would hang "synchronizing", some would go "green" quickly but still not showing my transaction nor enabling me to make the payment again, and then finally this one server made it possible to make the payment again (even with a different amount).

So:

  • The payment I send has been cancelled somehow
  • I suspect something went wrong with the transaction and couldn't be resolved until I visited the same server again
