Personally, it seems to me that people will be offended even more after such innovations.
You need to leave everything as it is.
Do you also have such an opinion?

Hello!

Since the introduction of 1 merit for juns heard a lot of shouting and indignation about the harassment of low-rank users. Maybe we should level the playing field?
For example: a mandatory requirement to wear a signature for all ranks (from Jr. Member before Legendary) is 10 earned Merit (not received in the airdrop, only earned).
And do it not once, but for example from January 1. To declare it for example on October 1. So it will be fair and no one will be offended...

I think your idea is better way to deal with the issue as it allow low rank members to earn some merit through quality posts !!

It is hard to speak your mind on merits unless you have some already(else you appear bitter or asking for some). The idea of earning merits purely on quality of post is noble but it is also subjective. I missed not being a part of the discussion in the meta section or not joining the forum much earlier. What is thrash to one reader may make some sense another. I don't mean spam

I do not know how you get 19 merit. the idea is crazy

I don't know to, this thread is his first English post  Shocked 109/110 of his posts are in Russian.
You should not be scornful of merit in local boards.
There it is much more difficult to earn merit.
The user published useful information and earned 19 merits in a few months.
And some users on this forum from 6 months and more and did not earn any 1 merit Grin
Most forum users do not really follow the discussion in the meta board. But this does not prohibit all users from expressing their ideas, suggestions, etc.

This kind of statement is discussed over and over again here in meta section maybe OP needs to do reading previous topics regarding to his question or suggestion,  before a new rule is implemented it is seriously discussed by the majority,  admins, staffs and even local members, there is also a percentage of consideration to what would be helpful in this forum. So, if you think that this merit or new implemented rules and regulation is kind of bias or inconsiderate then your wrong, please evaluate.

Stop the stupid idea and come back your Russian board.

Ready to argue why this is a "stupid idea"? Perhaps the amount of 10 merit earned is not enough? Perhaps 100 earned merit will be "good idea"?

I will consider if your merits come from English posts.

I love all these suggestions after the change was already made.  You guys don't realize that the idea for requiring a single merit requirement in order to become a Jr. Member has been batted around for some time now.  It wasn't discussed in secret.  It was right here in Meta for everyone to see.

The resentment among those affected really shows--and the problem isn't higher-ranked members, it's generally new accounts.  In addition, a Full Member, Sr. Member, etc., will still have trouble ranking up if they can't make good posts.  The merit system affects them just like anyone else.  As far as Legendary members go, I rarely see them consistently making crap posts and, I would add, many of them have earned merits on top of what they got airdropped back in Janurary.

You guys were nowhere to be found until this change happened.  Theymos is very reluctant to keep changing things, and I highly doubt he's going to seriously consider these ideas for tweaking the system being made by the newbies here.

He got some from xandry, who's a mod in the Russian section if I'm not mistaken.  That's actually a good thing for people to be earning merits on the local boards.  I'd like to see more of that and less of people trying to earn them by posting crap in Meta--or any other section that requires you to write in English when someone obviously struggles with the language.
