My method:
1. Register a new account (a new email)
2. Choose your country as US, but not your original one
3. Login to the new account at your phone
4. Choose 'redeem' at Play store, paste the code
5. It will ask for postal code. Just make up a 5-digit number for that
6. Done!

So I have a US account with $7.72 balance now though I'm not in US and don't use proxies.

This won't work for me I guess, as I wanted to use it for clash of clans and the ID with which I play wasn't registered with USA so if I redeem with another account I guess gems won't come into my account. Am I correct?

Does your COC account associated with a Google Play account? If yes, then you're correct. If no, you can link it to the new account I guess.

Also, where are you from? Some places in the world don't have their own gift cards.

Yes its already connected. Second, I am from India.
