Hello folks.

I already own BTC and ETH. Looking to add a 3rd altcoin. Don't care about feasability as a currency; this is a speculative investment.

My candidates are litecoin, monero and iota. Which would you recommend?

I suggest you try to buy adex and mnx, for me it's profitable. If we see adex, stable price and volume become great sign to invest ( not trading ), just like saving. But mnx, I think this is the right time to buy because the price start falling down. We only need use martiangle strategy to get profit with mnx , but patience always needed. Hope you decides like I do.

My personal opinion:

If I could rank those 3 coins based on my opinion on which is the safest to riskiest (1 being the safest)..
  • 1. Monero: Privacy/anonymity-focused cryptocurrency. I'm pretty sure we're gonna need some of those anonymity sometime in the future whether or not you're trading illegal goods or not.
  • 2. Litecoin: Pretty much almost bitcoin but with faster and cheaper transactions. meh
  • 3. IOTA: The non-blockchain coin. NO TRANSACTION FEES. But does it mean it's a good coin? Not necessarily. Yes, it has great ambitions; but could it achieve them? It still has alot to prove before gaining people's trust. High risk high reward, in my opinion.
Litecoin apparently will end up being the most spendable coin in the long run the way I see it. The transaction is like a blast. There are so many altcoins though, but it seems like a huge pretty unstable market which is why I have not really been stressing myself to hold most of them these days.

Now that most of them have had some pretty huge pump recently, imagine what it is going to be like for them in the present correction. I rather just trade, use the profit to hold some of them for the long term so at least I know I am not losing anything.

You can try and buy Minexcoin and Emphy (EPY) These two coins have less than half of their volume in circulation while the remainning half is reserved.

I think you should take a look at EMC2 coin. I bought EMC2 when its price was only 900sts then I sold them out at 2000sts per coin. For now I'm feeling very regret about my decision cause the price of EMC2 at the moment is nearly 9000sts per coin. Sad. If I kept holding all the amount of EMC2 I had until now I would become a millionaire Sad. Until now EMC2 still has very good potential, I think you should take a look about this atlcoin Cheesy

If you do not have any insiders and don't want to follow the companies course for months, then try to diversify the risks by buying the top-10 coinmarketkap coins. This is my only advice. It seems to me that this is obvious.  Wink

Based on your choices, Litecoin is the "safest" investment among them. Holding BTC, ETH and LTC would mean that you copy the performance of approximately 70%of the whole  cryptocurrency market. This approach has its pros and cons - if you want to speculate more, I would buy IOTA which in my opinion has the greatest upside potential.

But I do not know that you have checked the coinmarketcap dashboard of litecoin or not. When other top list altcoins are bumping we found LTC started dumped in the market. However, it is long time surviving coin in the marketplace. In that aspects we do not need fear about it. Can invest on it. Since IOTA newly bumped coin in the market but shows tremendous growth in supply recent days.

Well your choice of coin might not serve the purpose to which you want to achieve. Litecoin is not really a speculative in nature. Monero could be use for speculative purposes and for Iota, I have no idea

I think IOTA is the next big thing and there is a lot of news and rumor around this coin, but if you're looking for a long term investment that i can recommand Cardano the co-founder of ETH is behind this coin.
I can see why the same cardano has been rallying pretty big these days on the upper side. It really had a major pump recently and even if anyone would want to invest in this coin, it is better to chill and let it settle down for a while before even trying to hop in so they do not start sweating under the shirt. Good for those who were holding this coin earlier before the pump; they must have really hit it big.

Iota is the best investment for long term holding. I think this is most trusted cryptocurrency it will raise in digital market and also many futures are available in crypto world. So all are like to invest in Iota coin. I suggest to invest in Iota is much better than litecoin and Monero. But these two coin also good in market.
IOTA will really do pretty well in the long run and that for sure is just one coin to hold. No doubt about it. There are so many other coins one can invest and there so many undervalued coins right now which really I am just surprised they have just been so silent for a while now. At first, I though waves would do it, but these days I am beginning to rethink. One thing about the ALT market is that it is too big and most of them are just trying to find relevance with their pumps.

In that case mate, why pick just try it all you can figure it out whats best. I think all that coins are high valued they are all thesame best just buy it all.
Best coin at recent time is bitcoin and I am not the only one who is saying this whole world is giving same statement about bitcoin so without wasting time go for it and invest your money so that the time that is coming for the bitcoin investor to shower profit give you your gift also and ethereum is also in form nowadays but that is just because of higher values of bitcoin and I am sure bitcoin will give you more than ethereum.
In as much as I love portfolio diversification, this is just one choice that would give one some rest of mind and a long term improvement.

Most of these alts had been having just some ups and downs; merry go round kind of movement compared to bitcoin that even with the little corrections, the growth has been steady even for any investor stepping in at any time.

Altcoins though are more like a very long term investment or just mainly good to trade some of them and keep some for the profit in the long run, but they really do not do it for me. One time, you see them get pumped, and before you know it they are so down and taking a very long time to even pick up back.

The top consists out of:

1. BTC
2. ETH
3. Litecoin

Best investment considering awesomeness: Litecoin.
Best investment considering your investment pattern: Litecoin.

If you were to choose between Litecoin, Monero and Iota, you should go for Litecoin. Monero and IOTA are nice and all, but Litecoin is basically Bitcoin 4.0 .
It's a better version of the coin we all like & love: Bitcoin.
When it comes to the profit and popularity bitcoin is much higher as compare to these two so get bitcoin and fill the wallet and bitcoin is the future coin and it will help you to survive in future in good way and most probable thing is bitcoin will be soon declared as the global currency and then every business will be done in bitcoin mode so adopt it at this price otherwise will be much more higher than now and buying will be need.

I would have gone for Litecoin over Monero. Currently half the price of Monero and really looks promising. I would have also like to add DeepOnion besides Litecoin. DeepOnion also looks promising in view of future term.

strange conclusion. it seems to me that btc is a more reliable currency. In addition, Ether are more multifunctional. Smiley

I choose etc and ripple as alternative candidate, but you should research before replace your fund. For me, etc and ripple has stable price action and volume and that's a good indicator for investment but not trade. If we see from their history, I think is better than another. Etc and monero survive and has little negative news, so nothing too worry about it. Have a nice day.

I'll be happy for you if you chose IOTA. This would be a good choice for diversification, because it is different from bitcoin and etherium. I also like OmisGo. They are due in January to launch a working version of the platform for implementation in the business. I also like the stratis. The stratis is expected to have a number of events, including the launch of the masternode. And coins with POS are the most stable.

BTC and ETH are a great long term investment and apart from those there are few altcoins which I would recommend you investing in as they have great potential to return a good amount of profit in a short time. XRP has been the coin of long term investment and many experts recommend this coin as it has good potential to cross $1 . Dash has raised too much within this month and has shown its real potential. Many big investors are planning to invest in this coin. Litecoin and Monero also are good coins too and might be worth more in future.

I think my take on these three coin is Litcoin. Litcoin has growth potential in 2018 with supply of 84 million litecoins, compared to 21 million bitcoin.

Indeed, the three digital currencies you have mentioned are doing great at present and they are very much promising about grand future of their investors. I have some doubts regarding eth but rest two are absolutely cherished by customers for their big markets.

As we all know that bitcoin is the ancestor of all currencies and has the largest crypto market at present, it is the best investment of the time and even future.

Buy monero during dump if it will go below $150 again. I have several buy order for monero between $100 to $150, you can also do the same and hold them for few months. I think monero is still under valued and people are slowly moving into monero as an alternative to bitcoin because of its intense anonymity.

Another one is ETC, just a speculative investment like you asked for.

Given those 3 options I would take Monero myself because given everything that is ongoing with governments and the IRS getting access to Coinbase accounts it seems that privacy coins are really going to shoot up hard in 2018 and I think Monero stands to benefit a lot being in the top 10 already. I would not be surprised if both Dash & Monero were in the top 5 by next years end.

LiteCoin is the best option from your list. However, If I was you, I would add Ripple and ONION to my list. In fact, XRP is very promising and It can pump any moment because it has all success factors. Same thing for DeepOnion project.

My friend bought around 50 LTC last week due to the price bump his investment help him to find the profit. That is is the right you have chosen here to start to invest your fund with the multiple currency.
XRPs market supply is more than other currencies I am anyone can believe the potential of ripple and can invest your fund by splitted your fund without panic about it.
You can choose waves and neo also these two also shows supply and price growth more in the chart.

In your line of choice, none beats litecoin. It has been having a good run lately. Its flexibility and usage are getting a lot of followers too. Also, considering that its transaction process is super fast. Go for litecoin if you will.
